Abstract Pollution and the rising energy demand are two major society issues, requiring urgent solutions. Here, we review simultaneous production of hydrogen removal pollutants, with a focus on mechanisms, synthesis photocatalysts, applications. Remarkably, this method utilizes organic pollutants as sacrificial agents for photocatalytic production, thus both reducing pollution producing energy. Metal-doped, cocatalyst-loaded, inorganic composite, heterostructure heterojunction photocatalysts described. We present applications to antibiotics dyes. Pollutant degradation rates range from 5.3 100%, evolution 13.7–2724.89 μmol·g –1 h .

Abstract Psychiatric drugs do not vanish after being carried to wastewater treatment plants by the urine or feces of patients and, a variable portion their dose and also unused expired are lost environment. This is because technology intended eradicate pharmaceuticals metabolites. Above all, psychotropics can change population dynamics behavior at lower doses. We believe that antipsychotics have gotten enough attention when it comes drug pollution importance as environmental pollutants has been underestimated. An innovative approach eliminating pharmaceutical from water application advanced oxidation methods. Among these methods photocatalysis, ozonation, UV/hydrogen peroxide oxidation, photo-Fenton oxidation. Photocatalytic degradation now most widely used method since affordable ecologically beneficial due reusable nature photocatalyst. When light absorbed during photocatalytic degradation, electrons in valence band (VB) get excited migrate into conduction (CB). Consequently, hydroxyl radicals ( • OH) produced VB’s holes carrying out processes on photocatalyst surfaces. The charge difference between two bands encourages reduction reactions CB surface. To perform successfully, surface-active sites, favorable edge location, modest bandgap energy, increased separation, transfer. Due above-mentioned concerns, investigation analysis six psychiatric drugs—carbamazepine, sertraline, amisulpride, amitriptyline, diazepam, alprazolam—are main objectives this review.
