The intestine is populated by a complex and dynamic assortment of microbes, collectively called gut microbiota, that interact with the host contribute to its metabolism physiology. Diet considered key regulator intestinal as ingested nutrients shape resident microbiota composition. Furthermore, recent studies underscore interplay dietary microbiota‐derived nutrients, which directly impinge on stem cells regulating their turnover ensure healthy barrier. Although advanced sequencing methodologies have allowed characterization human microbiome, mechanistic assessing diet–microbiota–host interactions depend use genetically tractable models, such Drosophila melanogaster . In this review, we first discuss similarities between fly intestines then focus effects diet nutrient‐sensing signaling cascades controlling cell self‐renewal differentiation, well disease. Finally, underline model in role gut‐related pathologies understanding mechanisms mediate different whole‐body manifestations dysfunction.

A nutritional approach could be a promising strategy to prevent or decrease the progression of neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (PD). The neuroprotective role walnut oil (WO) was investigated in Drosophila melanogaster treated with rotenone (Rot), PD model, WO, their combination, and compared controls. WO reduced mortality improved locomotor activity impairment after 3 7 days, induced by Rot. LC-MS analyses fatty acid levels heads showed significant increase linolenic (ALA) linoleic (LA) both flies fed WO-enriched diet those association Flies supplemented an brain dopamine (DA) level, while Rot treatment significantly depleted content; conversely, did not modify DA content greater intake ALA LA enriched enhanced brain, suggesting polyunsaturated acids against Rot-induced neurotoxicity. involvement dopaminergic system improvement behavioral biochemical parameters is also suggested.

Abstract Background A prominent hallmark of aging is inflammaging—the increased expression innate immune genes without identifiable infection. Model organisms with shorter lifespans, such as the fruit fly, provide an essential platform for probing mechanisms inflammaging. Multiple groups have reported that, like mammalian models, old flies significantly higher levels anti-microbial peptide genes. However, whether some these genes—or any others—can serve reliable markers assessing and comparing inflammaging in different strains remains unclear. Methods Results We compared RNA-Seq datasets generated by groups. Although fly used studies differ significantly, we found that they share a core group strong aging-associated expression. In addition to genes, identified other prominently flies, especially SPH93 . further showed machine learning models can be predict “inflammatory age” fly. Conclusion may studying Drosophila profiles, combination machine-learning applied measure acceleration or deceleration

Abstract Triacylglycerides (TAGs) are neutral lipids and one of the major energy storage forms in an insect aiding normal physiology including reproduction organism. Importance TAG metabolism gametogenesis has been investigated insects like mosquitoes, silkworm Drosophila . However, a direct association between levels egg‐to‐adult viability not explored. In this study, we have assessed both stored circulating melanogaster lines with varying genetic backgrounds established through inbreeding recombinant strategies. We found noticeable variation D. lines. Apparently higher also had viability. To validate this, analysis these variations supervised correlation unsupervised K‐means clustering showed that positively associated irrespective gender. The findings suggest promotes successful transition egg to adult. Taken together, only potential application husbandry ecologically economically important but holds importance translational research fertility vertebrates humans.
