The metabolic syndrome (MetS), first introduced by Haller in 1975, was sometimes also known as insulin resistance syndrome, X, and plurimetabolic syndrome. In 1989, it rechristened Kaplan the “Deadly Quartet” based on a consolidation of central obesity, impaired glucose tolerance, dyslipidemia, systemic hypertension. MetS is positively associated with pro-inflammatory pro-thrombotic state, attributed to increased inflammatory marker activity. Moreover, frequently atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, hyperuricemia, obstructive sleep apnea, chronic kidney disease. Despite concerted endeavors worldwide, complexity pathophysiology still needs be clearly understood. Currently, therapeutic possibilities are confined individual therapy for hyperglycemia, hypertension, hypertriglyceridemia, regular physical exercise, restricted diet. this review, progress regarding understanding MetS; recent emerging technologies, such metabolomics proteomics; relation diabetes, diseases; association COVID-19 discussed.

Vitiligo is an acquired, chronic condition characterised by depigmentation of the epidermis or destruction/loss melanin. Skin cells (melanocytes) are responsible for producing melanin, substance that gives pigmentation to skin. This review aims provide a comprehensive overview current state knowledge about vitiligo. Although there no specific ethnic group, gender, skin type more prone vitiligo than others, it can affect anyone. The most commonly prescribed treatments systemic and topical phototherapy immunomodulators such as corticosteroids, calcineurin inhibitors, vitamin D analogues, in addition cosmetics camouflage improve quality life. Even though typically thought cosmetic disorder, its effects on physical psychosocial health sufferers cannot be ignored.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is the most common chronic skin disease, significantly impacting patients’ quality of life. One effective management approaches for AD involves addressing defective barrier by urging patients to regularly use suitable moisturizers. Therapeutic moisturizers designed are precisely formulated with ingredients targeting critical and often early symptoms (e.g., itch, inflammation, damaged barrier). Dermo-cosmetic products, which rich in moisturizing emollient agents contributing recovery as well strengthening barrier, have proven be excellent adjuncts treatment. There various galenic forms dermo-cosmetics, such lotions, gels, creams, foams, sprays, requiring a rationale choosing product formulation development. In addition, role moisturizer therapy address dryness linked dermatological conditions hugely dependent on varying chemistry morphology deeper regions skin. also limits efficacy treatments, corticosteroid side effects, sensory appeal, may decrease patient acceptance compliance. The objective this review thus offer comprehensive overview aspects involved development cosmetic vehicles, detailed examination primary used formulations AD.

This paper presents systematic review of utilization topical vitamin D, specifically cholecalciferol, calcipotriol, and tacalcitol, treatment vitiligo. considers role stimulating synthesis melanin melanogenesis, which can help with process repigmentation. The inclusion calcipotriol or tacalcitol Narrowband Ultraviolet Phototherapy (NB-UVB) has shown potential enhance therapeutic outcomes for However, their effectiveness combination Psoralens Long Wave Radiation (PUVA) Monochromatic Excimer Light (MEL) vitiligo limited. In contrast, combining corticosteroids analogues demonstrated superior efficacy treating compared using alone, while also providing added benefit reducing corticosteroid-related adverse effects. addition, stable cholecalciferol microneedling success. Future studies are needed ascertain an efficient method administering topically as anti-vitiligo agent.

The existing literature supports the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiviral capacities of polyphenol extracts derived from Geranium sanguineum L. These exhibit potential in hindering viral replication by inhibiting enzymes like DNA polymerase reverse transcriptase. properties G. seem to complement its immunomodulatory effects, contributing infection resolution. While preclinical studies on suggest effectiveness against COVID-19, there is still a lack clinical evidence. Therefore, polyphenols extracted this herb warrant further investigation as alternative for preventing treating COVID-19 infections.

(1) Background: Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is a crucial functional receptor of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Although scale infections no longer at pandemic levels, there are still fatal cases. The potential virus to infect skin raises questions about new preventive measures. In context anti-SARS-CoV-2 applications, interactions antimicrobial nanomaterials (silver, Ag; diamond, D; graphene oxide, GO and their complexes) were examined assess ability affect whether ACE2 binds with (2) Methods: inhibition competitive tests in vitro treatments primary human adult epidermal keratinocytes (HEKa) dermal fibroblasts (HDFa) performed blocking capacity nanomaterials/nanocomplexes toxicity cells. (3) Results: nanocomplexes exerted synergistic effect compared individual nanomaterials. HEKa cells more sensitive than HDFa Ag high concentrations GO. Cytotoxic effects not observed D. complexes, both carbonic had soothing against Ag. (4) Conclusions: Ag5D10 Ag5GO10 seem be most effective safe for applications combat infection by ACE2-S binding.
