ABSTRACT Compromised hydration and biolubrication leads to untreatable disorders like osteoarthritis (OA), dry eye disease (DED) mouth (xerostomia). Only symptomatic treatment is possible through bioactive molecules. This study aims investigate the properties of natural modified phytoglycogen nanoparticles (PGNPs) which have shown superlubricious behaviour at mica‐mica sliding interface. PGNPs were cationised (CPGNPs) by modifying hydroxyl groups into quaternary amine groups. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) was used characterise size zeta‐potential both PGNPs. The quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) their adhesion collagen type II mucin. tribological studied using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)‐glass system, cartilage‐glass (synovial) eye‐eyelid (ocular) systems. CPGNPs adhered better than on synovial ocular surfaces. Both particle types showed good lubrication for cartilage but no differences between in system observed. Overall, observed lubricating indicating great potential towards a implementation osteoarthritis.

However, patients’ understanding perceptions significantly impact their decisions expectations. In Delhi NCR, rising demand dental underscores the importance of evaluating public awareness, common misconceptions sources information. Materials Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 300 residents NCR using an online questionnaire. The assessed participants’ knowledge implants, procedure bone grafting Demographics such as age, gender education were collected to identify trends. Results: Among respondents, 61.8% men, 38.2% women. While 98% claimed familiarity with 51.7% believed they required more care than natural teeth 40% thought lasted only 2–10 years. Dentists primary source information 50% participants. Misconceptions common, 41% associating systemic illness 66% indicating no need replacement. Regarding grafting, 60% willing use from jaw, 57.3% preferred synthetic substitutes 29% could cause complications. Discussion: Although awareness is high, about longevity, needs complications persist. ABSTRACT Aims Nigeria's rapidly aging population presents urgent challenges for the healthcare system, particularly in oral health, which remains an overlooked aspect of well‐being. While older adults are especially vulnerable to dental issues such as tooth loss, periodontal disease, and pain, access care limited due systemic, economic, cultural barriers. This qualitative study explored lived experiences Nigerians accessing utilizing care, with goal identifying key barriers, facilitators, policy‐relevant insights. Methods Fifteen participants aged 50–83 years were purposively selected from urban peri‐urban areas Ilorin, North‐Central Nigeria. Using a semi‐structured interview guide, data collected through face‐to‐face interviews analyzed thematically following Braun Clarke's methodology. Results Three overarching themes emerged: (1) barriers including high treatment costs, geographic inaccessibility, mobility challenges, long waiting times; (2) facilitators family support, employment‐based insurance, culturally supportive health beliefs; (3) perceptions recognizing its importance nutrition, dignity, overall quality life. Findings reveal that Nigeria is shaped by combination structural neglect individual adaptation. valued preventive financial constraints, poor infrastructure, lack geriatric‐trained professionals consistent access. However, social support networks respectful provider interactions critical enablers care. Conclusions points need age‐inclusive policies integrate services into primary healthcare, expand insurance coverage, strengthen community‐based outreach. Addressing these gaps not only matter public but equity, right age well.

Introduction: Most research examining vitamin D and dental caries focuses on children younger adults. This study investigated the association between levels in older adults using data from United States National Health Nutrition Examination Survey 2011 to 2016. Methods: Data were analyzed 2723 participants aged 65 years who completed both examinations serum 25(OH)D tests. Dental assessments included decayed, missing, filled teeth (DMFT) index presence of untreated caries. Vitamin measured as concentrations categorized severely deficient (<25 nmol/L), (25–49.9 insufficient (50–74.9 normal (≥75 nmol/L). Logistic regression Poisson models used assess caries, adjusting for demographic factors. Results: The mean DMFT score was 17.73 ± 8.34, with 35.1% having deficiency associated a 1.44 times higher likelihood (95% CI: 1.15, 1.81), which weakened after adjustment factors (adjusted OR: 1.23, 95% 0.97, 1.55). Severe correlated 1.13 1.06, 1.20), remaining similar RR: 1.12, 1.05, 1.20). Significant differences observed across gender, race/ethnicity, country birth. Conclusions: suggests potential importance adequate maintaining health among is risk poorer scores. Public strategies that include screening supplementation, particularly high-risk groups, may improve oral outcomes adult population.
