The Intellectual Evolution of Educational Leadership Research: A Combined Bibliometric and Thematic Analysis Using SciMAT

This study aims to describe the century-long trajectory of educational leadership research (ELR), including changes over time in its main and subsidiary themes, as well most influential authors, papers, journals. The combines bibliometric performance science mapping analysis 7282 articles retrieved from Scopus WoS databases. SciMAT software (version 1.1.04) was used analyze four sequential periods exhibit thematic evolution field—Period 1 (1907 2004), Period 2 (2005 2012), 3 (2013 2019), 4 (2020–2023). Bu çalışma, uluslararası dergilerde dönüşümcü liderlik ve öğretmenlikle ilgili konular üzerine yapılan araştırmaları bibliyometrik analiz yoluyla sunmayı amaçlamıştır. PRISMA kılavuzundan yararlanılarak, 2009-2023 yıllarını kapsayan Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanındaki araştırmalar dahil etme hariç tutma kriterlerine göre 108 makaleye daraltılmıştır. Seçilen makaleler VOSviewer yazılımı kullanılarak edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, öğretmen kavramlarının özellikle ABD Çin'de büyük ilgi gördüğünü 2020'den itibaren bu konuların birlikte ele alındığı çalışmalarda bir artış yaşandığını göstermiştir. Son 15 yıl içinde en çok atıf alan yazarlar sırasıyla Ori Eyal, Piety Runhaar, Guy Rot, Karin Sanders Huadong Yang olarak tespit Öne çıkan anahtar kelimeler arasında "liderlik," "öğrenme," "yeterlik," "bağlılık" "profesyonellik" yer almaktadır. En yayını olan dergiler Educational Management Administration and Leadership Journal belirlenmiştir. Gelecek araştırmalarda, öğretmenlik farklı kültürel bağlamlardaki etkilerinin daha detaylı incelenmesi önerilmektedir.
