Abstract Background There is a mutual influence between emotions and diseases. Thus, the subject of has gained increasing attention. Objective The primary objective this study was to conduct comprehensive review developments in emotion recognition technology over past decade. This aimed gain insights into trends real-world effects by examining its practical applications different settings, including hospitals home environments. Methods followed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) guidelines included search 4 electronic databases, namely, PubMed, Web Science, Google Scholar IEEE Xplore, identify eligible studies published 2013 2023. quality assessed using Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) criteria. key information from studies, populations, application scenarios, technological methods employed, summarized analyzed. Results In systematic literature 44 that we analyzed development impact field medicine three distinct perspectives: “application scenarios,” “techniques multiple modalities,” “clinical applications.” following impacts were identified: (i) advancement facilitated remote treatment hospital environments healthcare professionals. (ii) been shift traditional subjective assessment multimodal are grounded physiological signals. progress expected enhance accuracy medical diagnosis. (iii) evolving relationship disease throughout diagnosis, intervention, processes holds clinical significance real-time monitoring. Conclusion These findings indicate integration with intelligent devices led systems models, which provide support interventions emotions. However, continuous emotional changes dynamic or complex will be focal point future research.

We also evaluated Working Memory index WISC-IV scale, Social Perception domain NEPSY-II battery, SCQ clinical Our findings suggest individuals exhibit lower accuracy empathy compared group. Both groups exhibited delayed reaction time Children display difficulties emotions disgust surprise. In terms cognitive showed greater inclination as ASD. This represents initial stage comprehending emotional empathetic abilities can provide valuable insights for developing future interventions.

Mental imagery is a cognitive ability that enables individuals to simulate sensory experiences without external stimuli. This complex process involves generating, manipulating, and experiencing perceptions. Despite longstanding interest, understanding its relationship with other functions emotions remains limited. narrative review aims address this gap by exploring mental imagery’s associations emotional processes. It emphasizes the significant role of on different functions, particular focus learning processes in contexts, such as school career, motor skill acquisition, rehabilitation. Moreover, it delves into intricate connection between emotions, highlighting implications psychopathology therapeutic interventions. The also proposes comprehensive psychometric protocol assess dimensions, enabling thorough evaluation construct. Through holistic imagery, integrating aspects, researchers can advance comprehension application both research clinical settings.
