Automated vehicles (AVs) are recognized as one of the most effective measures to realize sustainable transport. These can reduce emissions and environmental pollution, enhance accessibility, improve safety, produce economic benefits through congestion reduction cost savings. However, consumer acceptance trust in these not ideal, which affects diffusion speed AVs on market. Providing transparent explanations AV behaviour is a method for building confidence technologies. In this study, we investigated explainability user interface information an Valet Parking (AVP) system—one first L4 automated driving systems with large commercial landing. Specifically, proposed scenario-based explanation framework based explainable AI examined effects drivers’ objective subjective performance.
