Developing a suite of biofuels for different applications relies heavily on upgrading technologies to remove nitrogen compounds and carbon dioxide. Particularly in the biogas biomethane, simple water scrubbing is most widely used technology upgrading. This can be synergistically implemented without need additional equipment processing steps, although this design has not been conceived yet. Samples biogas-pipeline condensates were collected from 3 anaerobic digestion plants feedstocks (i.e., food waste, agrowaste, manure) at locations each plant biodigester postdigester condensate pits, digestate pasteurizer, booster chiller). The methodology analysis 5-mL was acid-base titration with 0.06 M hydrochloric acid 0.13 sodium hydroxide solutions as titrants, induction crystallization by cooling °C, adding up 40 mL acetone antisolvent, settling 12 hours. results showed that concentration ammonium bicarbonate ranged 0.75 50 g/L. suitable location enhance upgradation biogas, formation condensate, precipitation pit after digester before storage. concentrated retrieved coming out pasteurization tank, but operation 70.5 °C also led volatilization organic negatively affected quality. Future work aims investigate coating granulation crystals improve their stability commercialization.

Abstract Anaerobic digestate is a byproduct of biogas production and it suitable for use as fertilizer. Ammonia carbon dioxide provide the anaerobic with buffer capacity these compounds are responsible regulation pH this soil organic amendment. The present investigation used experimental theoretical data collection to assess feasibility isolating ammonium bicarbonate from complex matrix 95% moisture by conventional distillation procedure. blend similar behavior was expected that other non‐ideal mixtures, such well‐known ethanol–water solution. design classical batch setup handle relied on modeling operation column an mixture, which preliminarily elucidate relations between heating power, boil‐up rate, reflux ratio separation efficiency. Equilibrium retrieved Aspen Plus® v12 McCabe–Thiele methods were successfully applied determine minimum number stages isolate ethanol in their respective aqueous solutions. Operation at total collum mixture resulted increase efficiency rate increased. maximum necessary retrieve pure crystals out digestate. In case solution including ammonia dioxide, optimization dose antifoam required perform operation, owing excessive foam formation.

Pig farmhouses face unprecedented challenges in meeting the growing demand to feed an increasing population. To do so, these farms contribute significantly production of approximately 35 % world's NH3 emissions, a highly harmful air pollutant. In response this critical environmental issue, CO2 Management Slurry Strategy (CO2-MPS) proposes innovative solution mitigate emissions by leveraging biogenic produced within pig farmhouses. This groundbreaking Carbon Dioxide Utilization (CDU) approach based on utilizing form protective blanket over manure lagoons promises reduction 8 million metric tons annually. Such are well-documented initiators Particulate Matter, particularly PM2.5, highlighting potential positive impact quality strategy.

However, order attain precipitation NH4HCO3 distillate, it necessary consider digestates a moisture 50 wt.%, since minimum levels inorganic nitrogen carbon not attained otherwise. Even under these conditions, few acids (i.e. arginine, glycine, histidine) able provide an digestate, upon fermentation, that would stabilization. Despite alanine glutamine presented sufficient concentrations carbon, NH4HCO3-stabilization feasible due limited volatilization process stabilization capacity tonne per hour improved adding hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide rates 44 kg/h, leading production 34 kg NH4HCO3/h.
