Aberrant glycosylation patterns of glycoproteins and glycolipids have long been recognized as one the major hallmarks cancer cells that has led to numerous glycoconjugate vaccine attempts. These abnormal profiles mostly originate from lack key glycosyltransferases activities, mutations, over expressions, or modifications requisite chaperone for functional folding. Due their relative structural simplicity, O -linked glycans altered mucin family particularly attractive in design tumor associated carbohydrate-based vaccines. Several such formulations generated potent monoclonal anti-carbohydrate antibodies useful diagnostic immunotherapies fight against cancer. Paradoxically, related enveloped viruses also express analogous N - patterns. However, due fact are not equipped with appropriate glycosyl enzyme machinery, they need hijack infected host cells. Although resulting very similar those normal cells, some glycan often share common simplicity identified on Consequently, given both viral glycoepitopes, vaccines could be highly generate immune responses target conditions.

AimTo determine the frequency of common symptoms in long COVID and their effect on quality life, to factors contributing a more severe COVID.MethodsThe study enrolled 266 patients who were either referred long-COVID outpatient clinic or inpatients undergoing rehabilitation. The data collected between December 2020 May 2021. We evaluated experienced during acute comorbidities. Functional status was assessed with Post Covid Status (PCFS).ResultsThe final sample consisted 261 patients. After COVID-19 period (>4 weeks), almost 80% had impaired functional status. Only 21.5% reported no impairment (0 PCFS scale). A higher score associated female sex (P < 0.001) oxygen therapy requirement disease = 0.001). However, it not having pre-existing lung 0.749). Disease severity did pose risk for developing COVID.ConclusionWomen at greater COVID, although we have explanation why. Malignant hypertension also presented factor impairment. More studies are warranted if certain susceptible COVID.
