Abstract Objective The goal of this study was to investigate the association between neighborhood socioeconomic status (NSES) and BMI what extent is moderated by availability fast‐food (FF) outlets pay‐for‐use physical activity (PA) facilities. Methods Baseline data adults in Lifelines ( N = 146,629) were linked Statistics Netherlands a register using geocoding compute, respectively, NSES (i.e., low, middle, high) number FF PA facilities within 1 km residential address. Multivariable multilevel linear regression analyses performed examine BMI. Two‐way three‐way interaction terms tested moderation Results Participants living low areas had higher than participants high (B [95% CI]: 0.76 [0.65 0.87]) or middle 0.40 [0.28 0.51]), independent individual status. Although two‐ interactions NSES, outlets, significant, stratified did not show consistent patterns. Conclusions People lower BMI, their found no clear Environmental factors that may mitigate differences should be subject future research.

Abstract Objective To analyze the contribution of active commuting to and from school (ACS) device‐measured light physical activity (LPA) moderate‐to‐vigorous (MVPA) levels in young people aged 6 18 years old, as well as, both trip directions (i.e., home‐school, school‐home). Methods This systematic review was conducted according PRISMA statement, five different databases were used for search (PubMed, Web Science, SPORTdiscuss, Cochrane Library, National Transportation Library) using PECO strategy. Results A total 14 studies met all eligibility criteria, which compile 7127 participants. The overall ACS weighted LPA 19.55 min (95% CI: 3.84‐35.26; I 2 = 99.9%, p < 0.001) 68.74 6.09‐131.39; z 2.15, 0.030) during home‐school school‐home trips, respectively. For MVPA, MVPA 8.98 5.33–12.62; 99.95%, 20.07 13.62‐26.53; 99.62%, trip. Conclusion may contribute about 48% PA recommendations on days if are actively performed. Therefore, future aimed at increasing daily population should focus promoting students' ACS. PROSPERO registration number: CRD42020162004A.

Abstract Background Physical education classes are widely accepted as one of the most effective settings for promoting physical activity and health have often been used to implement interventions. The aim this pilot study was test a intervention program on levels fitness in sample school-age children. Methods Participants were convenience 50 children (34 experimental group 16 comparative group) aged between 6 11 years old (Mean = 8.28 years). A 21-week implemented, consisting high-intensity fitness-focused exercises, addition once-a-month extra class nutritional education. following variables evaluated before post-intervention: fitness, sedentary behavior (SB), light (LPA), moderate (MVA), vigorous (VPA). Propensity score analyses calculated average treatment effect treated (ATET) within quasi-experimental framework. Results showed improvements after intervention, specifically agility (ATET -0.67 s; p < 0.001), cardiorespiratory 89.27 m; 0.045), lower limbs power 4.47 centimeters; 0.025), speed -1.06 0.001). For SB levels, there no implementation. Conclusion preliminary effectiveness improve children, but not nor activity.

This study evaluated association between availability recreational facilities average minutes moderate vigorous (MVPA) per day US in 2017 (n=1,437). Data for this cross-sectional were obtained from Family Life, Activity, Sun, Health, Eating study, an internet-based collecting information on diet PA parent adolescent dyads. Adolescents aged 12-17 included. Predicted daily MVPA calculated. The exposure variables interest school facilities, indoor playing fields, bike/hiking/walking trails or paths public parks. Participants excluded if no was provided facilities. Unadjusted adjusted linear regression analysis used calculate mean their corresponding 95% confidence intervals. In fully models, we found statistically significant associations type facility differences (p-value<0.001) parks p-value<0.001), but not other differed by 4.4 (95% CI 2.6, 6.2) participants had respectively. Understanding adolescents' physical activity levels and underpinning contextual factors is crucial for health promotion. This cross-sectional study, using 24-hour time use diaries sociodemographic variables from the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children, addressed gaps in understanding before-school segment (the between waking up commencing classes). The study examined a) spent activity, focusing on location shared presence, b) correlates activity. Completed by 12–13 year-olds (n = 3,201) revealed that adolescents reported an average 10.8 minutes daily (average length: 114 min), mostly classified as active transport (5.7 min). Most occurred a other than home or school (6.1 min) with peers Notably, 51% boys 60% girls did not report any Through two-part regression, we found boys, single-parent households, those longer segments are more likely to compared their counterparts. Before-school initiatives should promote diverse opportunities settings. Research into barriers facilitators may inform inclusive effective promotion strategies, including school-based initiatives.
