University students have been identified as a particularly vulnerable group for adverse mental health outcomes owing to the distinctive implications of COVID-19 prevention measures on educational sector. Even prior pandemic, university were being at increased risk and suicidality. Although various factors can enhance suicide, one strongest predictors suicidality is presence depressive symptomology. The current study used receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis determine optimal cutoff score CES-D when screening suicide in during South Africa. Participants (n = 337) historically disadvantaged ROC showed no statistically significant difference between men’s women's area under curve (AUC); thus, single AUC be whole sample. found that 30 with sensitivity 89.30 specificity 62.60 represented an acceptable point. This study responds to the need explore psychological predictors of COVID-19-related anxiety in vulnerable groups.
