In recent years, micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs) in the natural environment have become a severe issue. Therefore, it seems significant to be knowledgeable on topic. The purpose of literature review presented here is describe general characteristics plastic particles, their main sources, degradation mechanisms, impact particles individual systems human body. usefulness scale distribution plastics worldwide shown, considering increase production years. Up-to-date indicates that they may influence development cancer, e.g. stomach, liver, or colon cancer. Scientists associate microplastics with cardiovascular immunological diseases. They also draw attention temporal correlation between increased incidence above-civilization diseases environmental contamination decades.

Rubber materials enter aquatic environments by stormwater runoff via sources such as playground mulch, athletic fields, and roadway surfaces. Tire rubbers are considered plastics they comprise a substantial portion of synthetic polymers. particles complex variable depending on the type, source, age rubber. In this study, zebrafish embryos daphnids were exposed to nano-scale or micro-scale particles, leachate from recycled rubber (RR), crumb (CR), cryo-milled tire tread (CMTT). Zebrafish evaluated for lethal sub-lethal effects over 120 h exposure, while tested 48 period. Nano-scale RR, CR, CMTT elicited hatch delay in with similar EC50 values (1.3 × 109–1.4 109 particles/mL). Micro-scale did not elicit any significant developing zebrafish. all significantly increased compared leachate, suggesting an adverse nanoparticle effect unexplained chemical leaching alone, indicating particle-specific effects. Daphnia RR micro- exposures resulted mortality, LC50 9.8 105 microparticles/mL 5.0 108 nanoparticles/mL, respectively. Leachate mortality. Sublethal nano-TP decreased microalgae ingestion after 24 h. The tire-derived observed pose risk organism survival at environmentally relevant concentrations.

Plastics are integral to daily life due their flexibility, durability, low viscosity, and poor conductivity. However, UV exposure, weathering, biodegradation fragment plastics into microplastics nano plastics, forming a heterogeneous mix categorized as large (5 mm 1 mm), small (1 μm), (<1 μm). Concerns over the health impacts of micro plastic (MNP) pollution have spurred extensive research, revealing increased disease susceptibility. Recent studies, analyzed using tools like Biblioshiny Vos viewer software, focused on authorship, journal sources, geographic origins, emerging trends in MNP research. Data from SCOPUS database (January 1, 2015 January 3, 2024) via Microsoft Excel revealed 478 articles, with steady annual increase publications references, highlighting growing interest nanoplastics’ impacts. China leads collaborations, eight top ten contributing institutions located there, alongside Spain Serbia. Chinese authors also dominate published papers leading journals, five which prominent Environmental Science. This study presents first visual metametrological analysis connection between nanoplastics human bibliometric techniques. By examining global research implications, we can better understand current landscape set priorities for future studies.

Chitin and its deacetylated derivative, chitosan, are biopolymers of significant interest due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, wide-ranging applications in biomedical, environmental, industrial fields. The exploitation crustaceans as the traditional source chitosan raises concerns about overfishing ecological sustainability. Modern insect farming, contrast, offers advantages such a circular insect-based economy leading reduced carbon footprint. This review explores potential insect-derived an alternative, emphasizing environmental benefits during production, functional properties, applications. Several aspects key analytical techniques for chitin characterization, including photometric, chromatographic, spectroscopic methods, also discussed. underscores versatility biomedical applications, wound healing drug delivery, well agriculture, packaging, wastewater treatment.

Abstract Micro-nano plastics have emerged as a major ecological concern. The nanoplastics (NPs) pose huge threat to microscopic animals. Our study aims decipher the effect of polystyrene (PSNPs) 50 and 100 nm sizes on bdelloid rotifer ( Philodina roseola ). Both PSNPs were analyzed using field emission Scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform Infrared spectroscopy, Dynamic light scattering analyses. LC values for at 48 h upon interaction with rotifers 16.36 22.94 mg/L respectively. total protein superoxide dismutase levels decreased an increase in concentration both various concentrations (4, 8, 12, 16 mg/L). Whereas lipid peroxidase reactive oxygen species increased similar concentrations. Further, found cause internal organ damage rotifers. A delay hatching rate was observed when interacted addition decrease F 1 generation. Therefore, natural life cycle
