Endocrine-disrupting compounds (EDCs) as emerging contaminants have accumulated in the aquatic environment at concentration levels that been determined to be significant humans and animals. Abstract Background Per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) have received increasing scientific political attention in recent years.
