Metals play an important role in the structure and functions of various proteins. The combination metal ions peptides have been emerging as attractive field to create advanced structures biomaterials. Here, we are reporting anion-influenced, silver ion coordinated diverse networks designed short tripeptide 310 -helices with terminal pyridyl groups. adopted classical right-handed, left-handed 310EL -helical conformations presence different salts. displayed conformational flexibility accommodate sizes interactions anions yield a variety metal-coordinated networks. complexes shown porous networks, right- helical polymers, transformation helix into superhelix 2 : metal-peptide macrocycles. Further, crystals inherent dipoles gave striking second harmonic generation response. optical energy upconversion from NIR red green light is demonstrated. Overall, utilization for construction notable non-linear effects.

Ecotoxicology is essential for the evaluation and comprehension of effects emergency pollutants (EP) such as heavy metal ions on natural environment. EPs pose a substantial threat to health humans proper functioning global ecosystem. The primary concern exposure animals through contaminated water. presence in drinking water ought be monitored accordance with World Health Organization regulations. Among numerous harmful ions, copper are responsible variety human diseases. This study investigates application phage display screening method toxicological targets, served main focus. To identify Cu-binding M13 clones unique peptides assess their affinity utilized Escherichia coli factories producing recombinant bacteriophages, modified biopanning procedure an ELISA assay. research highlights increasing importance tool ecotoxicology. We synthesized selected peptide enable rapid optical detection Cu(II) aqueous solutions. By incorporating dansyl group into designated sequence, we implemented fluorescence assays real-time measurements. Cu2+- binding peptide's efficacy was confirmed spectroscopic measurements, which allowed response times high selectivity. technique successfully applied develop fluorescent peptide-based chemosensor that exhibited selectivity sensitivity Cu2+.

The number of metal-containing waste streams resulting from electronic end-of life products, metallurgical by-products, and mine tailings to name but a few, is increasing worldwide. In recent decades, the potential exploit these as valuable secondary resources meet high demand critical economically important raw materials has become more prominent. this review, fundamental principles bio-based metal recovery technologies are discussed focusing on microbial metabolism-dependent metabolism-independent mechanisms sustainable alternatives conventional chemical methods. contrast previous reviews which have partially addressed topic, special focus will be given how can influence selectivity specificity recovery. While methods for show benefits in terms economic affordability, offer advantages efficiency environmentally friendliness. Modifications adaptations processes biosorption, bioaccumulation bioelectrochemical systems highlighted, further emphasizing application metal-binding peptides siderophores increase metals. Single solutions or mixtures with low complexity been studies reviews, does not reflect nature complex industrial effluents. Therefore, key challenges that arise when dealing polymetallic set optimizing recover metals efficiently selectively bio-leachates liquid streams.
