The goal of this study was to examine commonalities in the molecular basis learning mice and humans. In previous work we have demonstrated that anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) hippocampus (HC) are involved a two-choice visuospatial discrimination task. Here, began by looking for candidate genes upregulated mouse ACC HC with learning. We then determined which these were also blood. Finally, used RT-PCR compare gene expression blood from humans following one two forms learning: working memory task (network training) or meditation (a generalized training shown change many networks). Two caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 6 (Card6) inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase 2 (Impdh2). Impdh2 product catalyzes first committed step guanine nucleotide synthesis is tightly linked cell proliferation. Card6 positively modulates signal transduction. humans, significantly upregulated, trended toward upregulation training. Transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) is an emerging non-invasive technique designed to stimulate branches of the distributed over body surface. Studies suggest a correlation between brain-gut-microbiota (BGM) axis and pathogenesis Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The BGM represents complex bidirectional communication system, with being crucial component. Therefore, electrical might have potential modify—most time probably in non-physiological way—the signal transmission within axis, potentially influencing progression or symptoms AD. This review explores interaction percutaneous emphasizing its effects on It examines various aspects, such as specific brain regions, gut microbiota composition, maintenance intestinal environmental homeostasis, inflammatory responses, plasticity, hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) regulation. suggests that tVNS could serve effective strategy modulate intervene treatment future.

The Sigma-1 (σ-1) receptor has received increasing attention in recent years because of its ability link different signaling systems exert function the brain through chaperone actions, especially neuropsychiatric disorders. YL-0919, novel σ-1 agonist developed by our institute, shown antidepressive anxiolytic effects variety animal models, but on PPD have not been revealed. In present study, excitatory/inhibitory hippocampus was reflected GABA glutamate their associated excitatory-inhibitory proteins, HPA axis hormones were assessed ELISA. Finally, immunofluorescence for markers newborn neuron undertaken dentate gyri, along with dendritic spine staining arborization tracing. YL-0919 rapidly improves anxiety depressive-like behavior PPD-like mice within one week, normalizing excitation/inhibition as well activity. rescued decrease hippocampal complexity density induced estrogen withdrawal. study results suggest that elicits therapeutic effect mice; therefore, may be promising target treatment future.

Background: Depression is a severe mental disorder that poses significant threat to both the physical and wellbeing of individuals. Currently, there are various methods for treating depression, including traditional Chinese herbal formulations like Chaihu-Shugan-San (CSS), which have shown effective antidepressant effects in clinical animal research. Objective: This review aims provide comprehensive synthesis evidence related CSS, considering preclinical studies, uncover its potential multi-level, multi-pathway, multi-target mechanisms depression identify active ingredients. Methods: A thorough search was conducted electronic databases, PubMed, MEDLINE, Web Science, Google Scholar, CNKI, Wanfang, using keywords such as “Chaihu Shugan” “depression” retrieve relevant literature on CSS The process adhered PRISMA guidelines. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is prevalent and can be disabling. Many patients remain symptomatic despite behavioral medical therapies. Psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT), in which serotonergic agents like psilocybin are administered a psychotherapeutic context, has shown promise for refractory psychiatric disorders, including major depressive disorder post-traumatic stress disorder. Emerging evidence suggests PAT may also beneficial chronic pain conditions, fibromyalgia, low back pain, migraines. IBS highly comorbid with depression, anxiety, other suggesting shared cognitive neurological roots potentially therapeutic targets. In this editorial, we discuss 3 lines of as treatment IBS, under the overarching themes (1) psychological mechanisms (the findings from historic studies psychedelics elements psychobiological dysfunction targeted by PAT), (2) central nervous system (default mode network modulation induction neuroplasticity), (3) neurointestinal pathophysiology that modified PAT. We argue worthy study new disorders gut-brain interaction (DGBI). Successful application to gastrointestinal disease would represent step beyond mind-body dualism, potential implications functional somatic disorders.

The input was dominant glutamatergic input. These results suggest that increases densities both may upregulate diverse interneuron subpopulations, thereby enhancing structural cells, which might extinction.
