The purpose of this systematic literature review was to establish a correlation between thyroid dysfunctions and periodontium health. conducted according PRISMA statement. An electronic search performed using MEDLINE (PubMed) Google Scholar databases combination keywords "hypothyroidism", "thyroid", "thyroid dysfunction" "periodontitis". research covered the period from January 1, 2019 July 2024, included studies written in English, humans. results showed that hyperthyroidism can be associated with higher prevalence periodontitis due decreased oral microbiome diversity, serum thyroid-stimulating hormone levels, increased periodontal pocket depth, clinical attachment loss interleukin-6. Hyperparathyroidism after parathyroidectomy may lead slightly risk tooth extraction first two years afterward because decreasing lamina dura, increasing ligament width. And hypothyroidism negatively affects homeostasis calcium phosphorus fluid change composition bone minerals. Hyperthyroidism increases by promoting deeper pockets, reducing altering alveolar structure elevating inflammatory markers like interleukin-6, which are linked disease progression. Hypothyroidism worsens disrupting calcium-phosphorus balance causing changes, especially young individuals. The sensitive detection of inflammatory biomarkers in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) is highly desirable for the evaluation periodontal disease. Luminol-based electrochemiluminescence (ECL) immunosensors offer a promising approach fast and convenient biomarkers. However, luminol’s low ECL efficiency under neutral conditions remains challenge. This study developed an immunosensor by engineering immunorecognition interface on outer surface mesoporous silica nanochannel film (SNF) confining Co3O4 nanocatalyst within SNF nanochannels to improve luminol efficiency. was grown indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode using simple Stöber solution growth method. A successfully confined through situ electrodeposition, confirmed X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) electrochemical measurements. demonstrated excellent electrocatalytic activity, effectively enhancing H2O2 oxidation boosting signal conditions. Using interleukin-6 (IL-6) as proof-of-concept demonstration, epoxy functionalization enabled covalent immobilization capture antibodies, forming specific interface. IL-6 binding induced immunocomplex formation, which reduced allowed quantitative detection. showed linear range from 1 fg mL−1 10 ng mL−1, with limit (LOD) 0.64 mL−1. Periodontitis, a prevalent inflammatory condition, affects the supporting structures of teeth, leading to significant oral health challenges. Background/Objectives: Bioactive materials are gaining increased popularity as of choice for pulpal regeneration. ABSTRACT Aim The study aimed to elucidate a putative association between severe periodontitis and the incidence of recurrent cardiovascular events in patients with disease (CVD) within 10 years after their initial hospitalisation. Methods A cohort 1002 stationary angiographically proven CVD was included. They were examined regarding prevalence (≥ 30% teeth proximal attachment loss ≥ 5 mm), probing depth, clinical loss, bleeding on probing, number missing oral care habits. Recurrent summarised as combined end point (myocardial infarction, stroke/transitory ischemic attack, death caused by stroke). Survival analyses carried out 10‐year follow‐up period. Hazard ratios (HRs) adjusted for known cardiac risk factors using Cox regression. Results completed 792 patients. overall 42.8%. Severe associated (adjusted hazard ratio [HR] = 1.26, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.0–1.58 Standard error [SE] 0.11), whereas both, tooth brushing more than once day HR 0.74, CI 0.57–0.97, SE 0.13) performing interdental hygiene 0.71, 0.52–0.99, 0.16) decreased this risk.
