The interplay between functional food nutrients and neurosteroids has garnered significant attention for its potential to enhance stress resilience in health and/or disease. Several bioactive nutrients, including medicinal herbs, flavonoids, bioavailable polyphenol-combined nanoparticles, as well probiotics, vitamin D omega-3 fatty acids, have been shown improve blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction, endogenous neurosteroid homeostasis brain function. These can inhibit oxidative neuroinflammation, which are linked the pathogenesis of various neurological disorders. Interestingly, flavonoids exhibit dose-dependent effects, activating nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2 (Nrf2) pathway at physiological/low dose (neurohormesis). This leads upregulation antioxidant phase II genes proteins such heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) sirtuin-1 (Sirt1), activated by curcumin resveratrol, respectively. adaptive neuronal response mechanisms help protect against reactive oxygen species (ROS) neurotoxicity. Impaired Nrf2 hormone signaling exacerbate selective vulnerability neuroinflammatory conditions, contributing onset progression neurodegenerative psychiatric disorders, Alzheimer's disease, anxiety depression other due neurons stress. review focuses on targeting redox regulate BBB damage associated with altered GABAergic neurotransmission. By exploring underlying molecular using innovative technologies, we aim develop promising neuroprotective strategies personalized nutritional neuroregenerative therapies prevent or attenuate ultimately promoting health.

This study investigates the association between diabetic retinopathy (DR) and its complication, macular edema (DME), compared it with biomarkers of oxidative stress. aimed to compare main indicators development measured as parameters stress lipid oxidation, DNA damage, cytokine levels monitor their quantitative manifestation in DME. evaluated 134 patients (62 males 72 females; aged 62.10 ± 11.22 years) divided them into two groups: type 2 diabetes mellitus DR All results were healthy volunteers (n = 94) showed that DME had significantly higher ROS, production, damage. In addition, decreased nitric oxide (NO) an impaired NO synthase (NOS) system (p < 0.05). Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of vision loss in Western world, and it currently lacks effective therapy. It believed that AMD initiates aged retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), which presents lysosomal dysfunction oxidative stress (OxS) ultimately leads to RPE damage progression. a complex pathology, so multitarget treatments are required act on different pathways, presenting several challenges. In this review, we discuss current knowledge pathogenesis disease, focusing mainly OxS. Because transcription factors regulate homeostasis, factor EB (TFEB), controls function biogenesis, nuclear erythroid 2-related 2 (NRF2), manages OxS, have been proposed as promising targets for disease intervention. Finally, interplay these pathways potential synergistic effect AMD-targeted therapies, they could change course today’s available AMD.

Apart from the significant progress scientific community has made during last few decades, inflammation-mediated kidney-related diseases like chronic and diabetic kidney (CKD DKD) glomerulosclerosis still continue to raise mortality rates. Recently, conventional therapeutic interventions have been put aside, since natural vitamin D-derived treatment gained attention offered several promising outcomes. Within this article, utilization of D its analogues as potential toward diseases, due their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant anti-fibrotic activity, is outlined. Vitamin including calcitriol, paricalcitol 22-oxacalcitriol previously explored for such applications, but hidden yet be further elucidated. Several clinical trials demonstrated that analogues’ supplementation correlated with inflammatory signaling oxidative stress regulation, immunity/metabolism augmentation subsequently, healthcare-related infections’ prevention, results these are thoroughly evaluated. The highlighted research outcomes urge study on a plethora view fully clarify substantial anti-inflammatory constituents renal diseases-related health-promoting properties in many kidney-associated healthcare complications infections.
