This manuscript describes the Advanced Breast Cancer (ABC) international consensus guidelines updated at last two ABC conferences (ABC 6 in 2021, virtual, and 7 2023, Lisbon, Portugal), organized by Global Alliance. It provides main recommendations on how to best manage patients with advanced breast cancer (inoperable locally or metastatic), of all subtypes, as well palliative supportive care. These are based available evidence expert opinion when a higher level is lacking. Each guideline accompanied (LoE), grade recommendation (GoR) percentage reached conferences. Updated diagnostic treatment algorithms also provided. The represent management options for living globally, assuming accessibility therapies. Their adaptation (i.e. resource-stratified guidelines) often needed settings where access care limited.

Prescribing medications is a fundamental practice in the management of illnesses that necessitates in-depth knowledge clinical pharmacology. Polypharmacy, or concurrent use multiple by individuals with complex health conditions, poses significant challenges, including an increased risk drug interactions and adverse reactions. The Saudi Vision 2030 prioritises enhancing healthcare quality safety, addressing polypharmacy. Artificial intelligence (AI) offers promising tools to optimise medication plans, predict reactions ensure safety. This review explores AI’s potential revolutionise polypharmacy Arabia, highlighting practical applications, challenges path forward for integration AI solutions into practices.

Potential drug-drug interactions (pDDIs) pose substantial risks in clinical practice, leading to increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. Tools like Micromedex interaction checker are commonly used screen for pDDIs, yet emerging AI models, such as ChatGPT, offer the potential supplementary pDDI prediction. However, accuracy reliability of these tools a context remain largely untested. This study evaluates pDDIs discharge prescriptions medical ward patients assesses ChatGPT-4.0's effectiveness predicting compared checker. A cross-sectional was conducted over three months with 301 discharged patients. were identified using checker, detailing each interaction's occurrence, severity, onset, documentation. ChatGPT-4.0 predictions then analyzed against data. Binary logistic regression analysis applied assess influence predictor variables occurrence pDDIs. 1551 drugs prescribed patients, averaging 5.15 per patient. detected 60.13 % 3.17 patient, accurately (100 occurrence) but had limited severity (37.3 %) moderate onset (65.2 %). Self-medication with over-the-counter (OTC) topical eye medications is prevalent and poses potential risks such as adverse effects, drug-drug interactions, improper treatment. This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitudes, practices (KAP) of general population in Saudi Arabia regarding use OTC medications. A descriptive cross-sectional was conducted using an online Arabic questionnaire. mixture convenience snowball sampling methods employed recruit participants. The target included residents aged 18 older. total 601 participants, comprising 324 males (53.9%) 277 females (46.1%), were included. questionnaire retested for reliability before distribution. Data analysis performed SPSS version 26, statistics chi-square tests used relationships between variables. found that 124 participants (91.9%) who drops once reported no while 11 (8.1%) experienced side effects. Among those more frequently, 215 (98.6%) events, three (1.4%) statistically significant relationship frequency drop occurrence effects (p=0.005). Awareness associated misuse generally low. findings highlight need targeted public health initiatives educate individuals about safe appropriate misuse.

Background Aging, a significant public health issue, is associated with multiple concurrent chronic diseases and aging-related conditions (geriatric syndromes). Objective This study aims to investigate the impact of age on geriatric syndromes intercorrelations between quality life (QoL) in older adults (aged ≥65 years) at population level. Methods A large representative sample was randomly selected from county China, Feidong, 17 towns 811,867 residents. Multiple conditions, (frailty, polypharmacy, malnutrition), QoL were assessed compared. Associations demographic information using multivariable-adjusted logistic regression. Intercorrelations age, syndromes, investigated both correlation analysis restricted cubic splines–based dose-response analysis. Results Older comprised 43.42% (3668/8447) entire population. The prevalence frailty, premalnutrition or malnutrition, impaired (median 73, IQR 69-78 years; 1871/3668, 51% men) 8.26% (303/3668), 15.59% (572/3668), 3.22% (118/3668), 10.8% (396/3668), respectively. However, the total number significantly higher (p < 0.05). Serious comprised 16% 7% all medications, respectively Median numbers between vs. Me 2, IQR 0–7 3, per record, polypharmacy compared with that drugs Women taking more had prevalence No sex-related differences observed list medications. ICD code U07.1 (COVID-19, virus identified) associated highest median DDI record. Further research is warranted improve EHR structure, implement patient engagement reporting adverse drug reactions, provide genetic profiling avoid potentially serious DDIs.
