Abstract Objectives The purpose of this study was to do a retrospective analysis patients with zygomatic fractures who were treated at the Department Maxillofacial Surgery, Regional University Hospital Perugia, Italy, between 2016 and 2023. Materials Methods Patients evaluated based on various parameters including age, sex, aetiology, symptoms, comorbidity, clinical findings, fracture type, other facial fractures, treatment, waiting time before operation, complications sequelae. In period described, we had 123 cases requiring surgical intervention. Results Among patients, 101 male (82.1%) 22 female (17.9%). average age 48.65 years (ranging from 7 94 years). leading cause these sports‐related injury ( n = 32; 26.01%), isolated bone most frequent (72.43%). common signs symptoms pain, depression profile, difficulty in chewing, limitation buccal opening, protrusion movements mandibular lateralization. Ninety‐six per cent underwent surgery under general anaesthesia, open reduction internal fixation. Purpose: This pilot study aims to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of computer-assisted surgery protocol with 3D-preformed orbital titanium mesh (3D-POTM), using presurgical virtual planning intraoperative navigation in primary inferomedial fracture reconstruction. Methods: Between March 2021 2023, perioperative data patients undergoing for unilateral treated 3D-POTM were analyzed. Presurgical a Standard Triangle Language file preformed was conducted mirrored unaffected contralateral side as reference, used. The reconstruction accuracy determined by: correspondence between postoperative position difference among reconstructed volume. Pre- diplopia enophthalmos assessed. Results: Twenty-six included. Isolated floor reported 14 (53.8%) patients, meanwhile medial wall one 12 (46.1%) cases. mean final plate ideal digital plan 0.692 mm (95% CI: 0.601–0.783). volume orbit 1.02 mL 0.451–1.589). Preoperative settled out all cases 19 (76.2%) 21 patients. Conclusion: proposed is an adaptable reliable workflow early treatment fractures. It enables precise preoperative procedures, mitigating pitfalls complications, delivering excellent reconstruction, while maintaining reasonable costs commitment times.

ABSTRACT Study Design and Objectives The incidence of isolated fractures the orbital medial wall is moderate because low bone thickness. Our study aimed to investigate demographic variables, fracture features statistical correlations associated with these retrospectively. Materials Methods A total 57 patients fracture, admitted at Maxillofacial Surgery Unit Perugia University Hospital Ospedali Riuniti di Ancona, from 2014 2023 were enrolled in study. Age, sex, comorbidities, post‐traumatic clinical manifestations defect size side all evaluated patients. Pearson's regression coefficient ( r ) was used for analysis. Results more frequent men (male female ratio 2.16:1) primarily as a result motor vehicle accidents (30% cases); average age 48 years; enophthalmos, diplopia ocular motility abnormalities observed 31%, 23% 21%, respectively. According analysis, area significantly correlated age, older having larger p < 0.001); interpersonal violence traffic related younger 0.001). In recent analysis data, it found that occur frequently young (< 40 years) due road or violence. Patients' statistically area, defects. Conclusions This research assesses both characteristics pure fractures, aiming enhance understanding this scenario evaluate optimal treatment strategies.

Background: Facial nerve injury is one of the most concerning complications parotid gland surgery, with temporary and permanent dysfunction rates varying widely in literature. This study aimed to identify factors associated facial during surgery for benign tumors assess protective efficacy intraoperative monitoring (NIM) preventing injury. Methods: retrospective analyzed 329 patients who underwent between 2010 2023. Data collected included patient demographics, tumor characteristics (size, location, histology), surgical parameters (operation time, NIM usage), postoperative function evaluated using a modified House-Brackmann scale. Descriptive inferential statistical analyses, including Chi-square tests logistic regression, were employed predictors outcomes. Results: occurred 5.2% patients, comprising 4.6% 0.6% damage. Tumors located deep inferior lobes significantly increased risk paralysis/palsy (p = 0.035), while size histology showed no significant associations. Using reduced < 0.05; OR: 0.35, 95% CI: 0.25-0.50). Age was also identified as predictor 0.05). Conclusions: The findings emphasize importance mitigating injury, especially anatomically complex locations. Tailored approaches based on location patient-specific factors, combined routine use NIM, are recommended optimize preservation improve

Background: Mandibular condylar fractures are among the most common of facial skeleton, and their surgical management remains a topic considerable debate in maxillofacial trauma surgery. Numerous studies literature internationally have explored optimal treatment approaches, with growing preference for open reduction internal fixation (ORIF). While conservative has traditionally been standard intra-articular fractures, recent research suggests that ORIF may also be appropriate selected cases these fractures. Methods: This study presents 14-year review (2009–2023) authors’ experience Data were collected on techniques, early late complications, clinical radiological outcomes, comparisons treatment. Results: The analysis included evaluations both short-term long-term outcomes following ORIF, identifying specific scenarios where demonstrated advantages over management. Clinical radiographic assessments provided valuable insights into patient recovery functional while complication rates documented methods. Conclusions: Findings indicate can beneficial option select groups, offering improved insufficient. However, valid approach when risks exceed potential benefits. adds to ongoing discussion, supporting tailored considers individual factors choosing between
