Hydrogels have gained significant popularity in agricultural applications terms of minimizing waste and mitigating the negative environmental impact agrochemicals. This review specifically examines utilization environmentally friendly, shapable hydrogels composed polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) various casings for crop protection against different pests, fertilizing, watering. To activate their effectiveness, PVA/PVP were loaded with both hydrophilic hydrophobic friendly pesticides, namely hydrogen peroxide (HP), essential oil thymol, urea as a fertilizer, either separately or combination. covers physical chemical approaches used loading, shaping, controlling release profiles pesticides fertilizers. Additionally, it explores evaluation composition, structure, classification, rheology, morphology well on thermal stability encapsulated followed by biological tests. These significantly contribute to stabilization controlled nutrients biocides plants, while maintaining excellent biocidal fertilizing properties sustainability characteristics. By shedding light latest insights into concepts, applications, results these hydrogels, this demonstrates immense potential widespread future use agriculture.

Silica (SiO2) particles are widely used in various industries due to their chemical inertness, thermal stability, and wear resistance. The present study describes the preparation potential use of porous hydrophobic hydrophilic SiO2 microcapsules (MCs) a narrow size distribution. First, layers micro/nano-particles (M/NPs) were grafted onto monodispersed polystyrene (PS) microspheres Hydrophobic sintered MCs then prepared by removing core PS from PS/SiO2 core–shell burning off under normal atmospheric conditions or organic solvent dissolution, respectively. We examined how quantity M/NPs influence MC’s properties. Additionally, we utilized two forms hollow MC for different applications; one form was incorporated into polymer films, other free-floating. filled with 6% hydrogen peroxide effective killing tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV). thymol thin coated polypropylene films successfully prevent mold formation hay protection.
