This study examines how strategic leadership fosters adaptability and innovation among Taiwanese operators, drawing on 20 in-depth interviews with diverse farms. Data triangulation via observations, financial analysis, semi-structured interviews—guided by Schoemaker et al.'s framework—revealed six pivotal capabilities: anticipation, challenge, interpretation, decision-making, alignment, learning. Agritourism is an increasingly popular form of rural tourism that involves agricultural activities and operations aimed at attracting visitors to a farm. We contribute the literature by examining sustainability differences between agritourism (ATFs) non-agritourism farms (non-ATFs) in Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino Euroregion impact on traditional farming activities. The research questions are answered using collected farm survey data (n = 493) propensity score techniques allow estimate treatment effects adoption controlling for selection biases. results reveal has positive economic outcomes such as income increases, but negative impacts production quantity value. The global COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted businesses worldwide, with rural being no exception. This study examines the effects of crisis on upland farmers in England. It builds under-researched area constrained entrepreneurship. Institutional theory is applied as a theoretical lens to understand how events shape institutional contexts which farm strategically navigate. Using qualitative, multiple case approach, we explore different farmers, traditionalist and entrepreneurial, have responded aftermath crisis-influenced constraints.
