Introduction and Aim: Cervical cancer is a global health burden. Of all the incidences reported in Indonesia, cervical occupies second position as highest contributor to incidence throughout year, third leading cause of death. Tissue culture staining methods were used diagnose cancer. This study aimed compare Candida detection possibility vulvovaginal candidiasis risk factors tissue blocks stained with periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) Gomori methenamine silver (GMS). Methods: was an analytical observational using cross-sectional approach. compared PAS GMS detect fungi paraffin block from individuals diagnosed at Anatomical Pathology Laboratory Kediri Regency Regional General Hospital 2021–2022. The sampling Total carried out March December 2022. Data analyses descriptively performed. Results: dominated by patients aged 51–60 years who belonged decade 6. In this study, 32 tissues deparaffinized analyzed. A histopathological diagnosis examined biopsy samples obtained. total 81.25% had squamous cell carcinoma, 18.75% adenocarcinoma. findings show that can more than staining. Microscopic examination showed obvious contrast, marked black structures green area. Thirteen (40.7%) for vulvovaginitis. However, did not invasion cervix factor Conclusion: be tissue. has higher accuracy detecting carcinoma fungal infections occurrence require further investigation.

Candida albicans is a prevalent fungal pathogen that displays antibiotic resistance. The polyene antifungal amphotericin B (AmB) has been the gold standard because of its broad spectra, and liposomal formulation, AmBisome, used widely clinically in treating infections. Herein, we explored enhancing activity AmBisome by integrating small chitin-binding domain (LysM) chitinase A derived from Pteris ryukyuensis. LysM conjugated with lipid (LysM-lipid) was initially prepared through microbial transglutaminase (MTG)-mediated peptide tag-specific conjugation lipid-peptide substrate. formulation modified LysM-lipid conjugates had size distribution comparable to native liposomes but an increased zeta potential, indicating were anchored AmBisome. LysM-lipid-modified exhibited long-term stability at 4 °C while retaining capacity bind chitin. Nevertheless, efficacy against C. modest. We then redesigned new conjugate introducing linker containing thrombin digestion (TD) site C-terminus (LysM-TD linker-lipid), thereby facilitating liberation upon addition thrombin. This LysM-TD linker-lipid superior performance suppressing growth presence compared formulation. These results provide platform design stimuli-responsive formulations respond external environments thus advance treatment pathogenic fungi

As a common human commensal fungus, Candida albicans may play an active part in cancer progression rather than just being present by chance people who have cancer. Reduced fungal growth colonization were observed when TIGIT-KO splenocytes co-cultured C. compared the wild type (WT).
