Cosmetics analysis represents a rapidly expanding field of analytical chemistry as new cosmetic formulations are increasingly in demand on the market and ingredients required for their production constantly evolving. Each country applies strict legislation regarding substances final product that must be prohibited or regulated. To verify compliance cosmetics with current regulations, official methods available to reveal quantitatively determine analytes interest. However, since ingredients, lists regulated/prohibited substances, change, dedicated developed ad hoc fulfill requirements. Research focuses finding innovative techniques allow rapid, inexpensive, sensitive detection target cosmetics. Among different proposed, immunological gaining interest, they make it possible carry out low-cost analyses raw materials finished products relatively short time. Indeed, immunoassays based specific selective antibody/antigen reaction, have been extensively applied clinical diagnostic, alimentary quality control environmental security purposes, even routine analysis. Since complexity variability matrices, well great variety compounds present cosmetics, analogous those from food sources, could also successfully this field. would provide valid approach monitoring industrial chains developing countries, which currently greatest producers major exporters materials. This review aims highlight proposed analysis, focusing prohibited/regulated compounds, bacteria toxins, allergenic identification counterfeits.

Concerns about the safety of traditional preservatives in personal care products are driving interest toward self-preserving alternatives. This study explores potential B. stenostachya leaf extracts, a natural and biodegradable material, for use cosmetics. stenostachya, fast-growing bamboo species native to Taiwan, is rich bioactive compounds, including flavonoids with antimicrobial properties. Leaves were obtained from Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) Tainan, extracted using ultrasonic Soxhlet methods water, 50% ethanol, 95% ethanol. The highest yield was achieved ethanol at 100 °C. Cytotoxicity evaluated NIH/3T3 mouse fibroblast cell line, no toxicity observed dilutions between 1/3200 1/400, indicating extract’s cosmetic use. Antimicrobial activity tested accordance ISO 11930:2019 standards. extract effectively inhibited Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus pathogens, meeting preservative efficacy Standards A B long-term microbial control. Bamboo sustainable resource lower environmental impacts, its show promising biodegradability reduced footprints. research indicates that offers alternative chemical preservatives, promoting both sustainability public health, expanded formulations.

Abstract Objective This work deals with the development of an analytical method for analysis body milk, cream, and oil. The objective is to develop a reliable, sensitive, reproducible suitable assess content dexpanthenol in personal care products confirm declared enantiomeric form. Methods Optimization conditions extraction panthenol from was carried out detection quantification its enantiomers by achiral chiral high‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) spectrophotometric detection. Polarimetric circular dichroism HPLC were also used confirmation forms panthenol. Results Optimal media, chloroform:water 1:3 (v:v) liquid‐phase NH 2 type adsorbent solid‐phase have been selected. A combined procedure useful treatment complex fat cosmetic samples, achieving recoveries 83.1%, 88.2%, 83.0% oil, respectively (RSD < 1.6%). C18 stationary phase acetonitrile:water (10:90, v:v) as mobile phase, amylose tris(3,5‐dimethylphenylcarbamate) composed n ‐hexane ethanol (60:40, extracts. Conclusion proposed compatible both reversed‐phase normal‐phase chromatographic systems applicable wide group products. d ‐enantiomeric form (dexpanthenol) detected tested samples. oil samples found be 0.2%–1.5%, 0.04%–0.7%, 0.01%–0.03%, respectively.
