Abstract
Triatomines
(Hemiptera:
Heteroptera:
Reduviidae),
commonly
known
as
conenose
or
kissing
bugs,
includes
species
of
outstanding
medical
importance
given
their
role
vectors
the
protozoan
parasite
Trypanosoma
cruzi
Chagas
(Kinetoplastida:
Trypanosomatidae),
aetiological
agent
disease.
Herein,
we
present
an
updated
review
chemical
ecology
triatomines,
with
special
reference
to
molecules
involved
in
communication
these
insects.
Infochemicals,
including
hormones
and
semiochemicals
(pheromones
allelochemicals),
have
a
pivotal
mediating
information
shaping
interactions
within
between
during
distinct
behavioural
contexts.
We
analyse
new
findings
about
composition
alarm,
aggregation
sex
pheromones,
well
on
cuticular
hydrocarbons,
host
attractants
repellents.
also
discuss
how
triatomine
may
serve
signals
highlight
reverse
approach
studying
complex
chemoecology
arthropod
vectors.
