The diversified self-assembly in water is a versatile and significant phenomenon with far-reaching implications materials science, medicine, biotechnology, various other fields. Through subtle tailoring the amphipathic molecular structures, two completely different behaviors were obtained. precursors M1-X (X= I- or Cl-) rigid shorter bridges between hydrophobic core hydrophilic edge form 2D framework while precursor M2-I molecule flexible vinyl gives 3D cube-like supramolecular cages. Notbatly, all single crystals of assem-blies single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis provided unambiguous evidence structures.
