The extraction of bioactive compounds pharmaceutical interest from natural sources has been significantly explored in recent decades. However, the techniques used were not very efficient terms time and energy consumption; additionally, solvents for harmful environment. To improve environmental impact extractions at same increase yields, several new developed. Among most ones are ultrasound-assisted microwave-assisted extraction. These increased yield selectivity a smaller amount with decrease consumption. Nevertheless, high volume organic was still extraction, causing subsequent problem. Neoteric appeared as green alternatives to solvents. neoteric solvents, deep eutectic evidenced be one best due their intrinsic characteristics. considered because they made up such sugars, amino acids, carboxylic acids having low toxicity degradability. In addition, simple prepare, an atomic economy 100%, attractive physicochemical properties. Furthermore, huge number that can synthesize these make them useful since tailored selective towards specific component or class components. main aim this paper is give comprehensive review which describes properties, characteristics, production methods well its application extract interest. Additionally, overview more sustainable also given.

The methods and solvents employed in routine extraction protocols essentially impact the composition of resulting extracts, i.e., relative abundances individual biologically active metabolites quality stability isolates. Natural deep eutectic (NADESs) represent a new class environmentally friendly solvents, which are recognized as promising extractants alternative to conventional organic liquids. However, their efficiencies when applied different workflows still poorly characterized. Therefore, here, we compare potential three for natural products from Aralia elata var. mandshurica with selected using non-targeted metabolomics approach. metabolite profiling relied on reversed-phase ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography–high-resolution mass spectrometry (RP-UHPLC-HR-MS). roots A. were extracted by maceration, ultrasound-assisted (UAE), vibrocavitation-assisted (VAE). Principal component analysis (PCA) revealed clear separation extracts obtained NADES1 (choline chloride/malic acid) NADES2 (sorbitol/malic acid/water). Based results hierarchical clustering normalized further statistical evaluation t-test, it could be concluded that showed superior efficiency all addressed. this NADES was more detail. PCA followed t-test yielded only 3 efficiently whereas 46 compounds abundant VAE. When VAE UAE compared, 108 appeared VAE, 1 recovered UAE. These facts clearly indicate advantage method over maceration Seven twenty-seven tentatively identified tandem (MS/MS) found first time. Additional studies necessary understand applicability other plant materials.

Saffron (Crocus sativus) floral by-products are a source of phenolic compounds that can be recovered and used in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or cosmetic industries. This study aimed to evaluate compounds’ extraction using green techniques (GETs) saffron explore influence selected on phytochemical composition extracts. Specifically, ultrasound-assisted (UAE), subcritical water (SWE), deep eutectic solvents (DESE) were used. Phenolic identified with (HR) LC-ESI-QTOF MS/MS analysis, quantitative analysis was performed HPLC-PDA. Concerning techniques, UAE showed highest amount for both anthocyanins flavonoids 50:50% v/v ethanol/water as solvent (93.43 ± 4.67 mg/g dry plant, dp). Among SWE, 96% ethanol t = 125 °C gave best results. The 16 different mixtures DESE (110.95 5.55–73.25 3.66 dp), while better extracted choline chloride:butane-1,4-diol (16.0 0.80 Consequently, GETs employed extract bioactive from by-products, implementing recycling reduction waste fitting into broader circular economy discussion.
