Abstract Photocatalytic H 2 production is considered as a promising method to solve the energy crisis, and how increase photocatalytic efficiency an urgent issues that need be addressed. In this work, Bi–Bi S 3 /Zn 0.5 Cd (BBS/ZCS) composites were successfully prepared by simple hydrothermal method. By electrostatic attraction, Zn (ZCS) nanoparticles loaded on surface of (BBS) microtubes, facilitating formation heterojunctions. Although BBS showed little activity in production, it largely enhanced performance ZCS. After optimizing amount cocatalyst, was found 10% BBS/ZCS had best 10.18 mmol g −1 h , which 30 times higher than ZCS (0.34 ). The could ascribed interfacial heterojunctions, photogenerated electrons migrate Bi 0 while holes transfer valence band (VB) . With bridge accept ZCS, fast recombination charge carriers (PCCs, including holes) for improved. This work not only promotes separation PCCs, but provides new idea design catalysts.

Polyurethane/silk protein–bismuth halide oxide composite films were fabricated using a blending-wet phase transformationin situsynthesis method. The crystal structure, micromorphology, and optical properties conducted XRD, SEM, UV-Vis DRS characterize techniques. results indicated that loaded silk protein enhanced the hydrophilicity pore structure of polyurethane films. active species BiOX observed to grow as nanosheets with high dispersion on internal skeleton surface polyurethane–silk film. photocatalytic efficiency BiOX/PU-SF was assessed through degradation Rhodamine B under visible light irradiation. Among tested films, BiOBr/PU-SF exhibited highest removal rate RhB at 98.9%, surpassing rates 93.7% for BiOCl/PU-SF 85.6% BiOI/PU-SF composite. Furthermore, an capture test superoxide radical (•O2−) hole (h+) played predominant role in photodegradation process.
