Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a functional disorder of the gastrointestinal tract characterized by abdominal pain and altered bowel habits. It has prevalence 10 to 25% in United States high disease burden, as evidenced reduced quality life, decreased work productivity increased healthcare utilization costs. IBS been associated with several intra-intestinal extra-intestinal conditions, including psychiatric comorbidities. Although pathophysiology not fully elucidated, it involves dysregulation communication between brain gut (brain–gut axis) which alterations intestinal motility, permeability, visceral hypersensitivity microbiota composition. The purpose this article review role plays IBS, understand factors that affect microbiome explore target treatment.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second most deadly worldwide. CRC management challenging due to late detection, high recurrence rate, and multi-drug resistance. Herbs spices used in cooking, practised for generations, have been shown contain protective effect or even be useful as an anti-CRC adjuvant therapy when doses. many bioactive compounds possess beneficial health effects. The chemopreventive properties of these herbs are mainly mediated by BCL-2, K-ras, MMP pathways, caspase activation, extrinsic apoptotic pathway, regulation ER-stress-induced apoptosis. As a safer natural alternative, could good candidates chemotherapeutic agents because their antiproliferative action on colorectal carcinoma cells inhibitory activity angiogenesis. Therefore, this narrative review, six different herbs: ginger ( Zingiber officinale Roscoe), turmeric Curcuma longa L.), garlic Allium sativum fenugreek Trigonella foenum-graecum sesame Sesamum indicum flaxseed Linum usitatissimum L.) daily cuisine were selected study analyzed chemoprotective roles with underlying molecular mechanisms actions. Initially, comprehensively discussed basis development, followed culinary traditional uses, current scientific research, publications cancers. Lead each herb spice, including phytoconstituents, antioxidant activities, anti-inflammatory properties, finally, effects treatment mechanisms. Future possible works suggested where applicable.

The interplay between diet, the gut microbiome, and host health is complex. Diets associated with have many similarities: high fiber, unsaturated fatty acids, polyphenols while being low in saturated fats, sodium, refined carbohydrates. Over past several decades, dietary patterns changed significantly Westernized nations increased consumption of calorically dense ultraprocessed foods fiber salt, carbohydrates, leading to numerous negative consequences including obesity, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease. microbiota an environmental factor that interacts diet may also impact on outcomes, which involve metabolites produced by from components can host. This review focuses our current understanding complex relationship microbiota, health, examples how support increase individual's risk for disease, be used as a therapy specific diseases.

Frailty is a syndrome of growing importance given the global ageing population. While frailty multifactorial process, poor nutritional status considered key contributor to its pathophysiology. As nutrition modifiable risk factor for frailty, strategies prevent and treat should consider dietary change. Observational evidence linking with appears most robust quality: example, patterns such as Mediterranean diet appear be protective. In addition, research on specific foods, higher consumption fruit vegetables lower ultra-processed foods are consistent, healthier profiles linked risk. Few intervention studies have been conducted date, although number trials that combine supplementation exercise training suggest multi-domain approach may more effective. This review based an interdisciplinary workshop, held in November 2020, synthesises current understanding influences focusing opportunities prevention treatment. Insects share an intimate relationship with their gut microflora and this symbiotic association has developed into essential evolutionary outcome intended for survival through extreme environmental conditions. While it been clearly established that insects, very few exceptions, associate several microbes during life cycle, information regarding aspects of these associations is yet to be fully unraveled. Acquisition bacteria by insects marks the onset microbial symbiosis, which followed adaptation bacterial species environment prolonged sustenance successful transmission across generations.
