The Effects of a Five-Month Lockdown Due to COVID-19 on Physical Fitness Parameters in Adolescent Students: A Comparison between Cohorts DOI Open Access

Background: This study examined the effects of a five-month lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic on physical fitness parameters in urban adolescent male and female students. Methods: Two hundred ninety-three students (age: 15.8 ± 0.3 years) who attended fourth grade same high school during years 2016–2017 (first control group), 2018–2019 (second group) 2020–2021 (lockdown took part present study. Using self-reported questionnaires, several studies found that social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed level of physical activity (PA) in children and adolescents. Since objectivity PA is limited ways, we used modern accelerometers this study to assess levels male female adolescents pandemic-related lockdown. Revisão bibliográfica: A COVID-19 provocou diversas consequências sociais, econômicas, psicológicas físicas, populações mais vulneráveis como as adolescentes. Observou-se mudanças desde hábitos alimentares, até padrões de mental. Desse modo, o estudo optou selecionar cinco principais mencionados na literatura, uso telas, fechamento das escolas, mental, alimentação violência doméstica. Considerações finais: O cotidiano foi significativamente afetado com COVID-19, devido problemas financeiros enfrentados familiares.
