Objective: This study investigated changes in sodium concentrations human milk from mothers of premature infants using different breast pumps for 14 days postpartum, and the correlation between concentration mother's own (MOM) volume pumped. Study Design: randomized controlled recruited 66 delivered our hospital February to December 2018, we assigned them three groups an envelope method. In intervention group 1, a hospital-grade electric pump was used postpartum day 1 14; 2, on 5 normal personal 6 control group, 14. Data recorded included pumped concentration. Results: The average daily MOM differed statistically (p < 0.05) at 7 did not differ 2 by > 0.05). However, time taken normalize significantly 0.01). At 5, 73% were within limits, they maintained until comparison, only 41% controls had levels still high 27.3% controls. Conclusions: early stage lactation initiation (within postpartum), promotes who deliver prematurely more quickly. Sodium can be as objective biomarker evaluate possibility delayed infants, it could assist interventions period. Trial Registration: Chinese Clinical Registry, ChiCTR2200061384.

The nipple is the focal point of human breast and serves important physiological, sexual, aesthetic purposes. It can be affected by atopic, irritant, allergic contact eczema, which often reduce patient's quality life. objective this article to discuss different types eczema highlight relevant differential diagnoses treatment options. A systematic search PubMed was conducted identify critically appraise existing literature on topic. All articles were considered eligible, regardless publication date, language or study design. final 33 manuscripts remained. scarce limited number high-quality impedes provision structured data eczema. To securely reach educative value manuscript, review combined with a manual databank selected textbooks. diagnosis encompasses among others psoriasis, candidiasis Paget's disease. In case diagnostic uncertainty, swabs biopsies are indicated. Treatment needs rapidly control signs symptoms disease, since it have negative effect life lead premature arrest breastfeeding. key step starting topical corticosteroids calcineurin inhibitors, both safe during lactation. Avoidance provoking factors, such as repetitive friction, chemical agents, allergens, help. use protection devices proposed for nursing women sometimes adjusting latch/suck positioning breastfeeding needed. Furthermore, patients should advised moisturize intensively switch emollient wash products. Warm water compresses, black tea compresses commercially available tannin containing topicals provide comfort.

Very low birth weight (VLBW) infants have higher nutritional needs even after hospital discharge. However, data concerning current nutrient intakes at different time points the introduction of solid foods and whether dietary reference values are being met scarce. To adress this issue, secondary analysis a prospective, two-arm interventional study in 177 VLBW 21 investigates intake comparing early late (early: 10–12 weeks corrected for gestational age, late: 16–18 age) standardized complementary food during first year life. Nutritional was assessed using self-reported monthly 3-day records from 3 until 12 months, age. The point did not influence intake, but solids tended toward proportional protein carbohydrates lower fat as percentage total energy) 1st life, results indicate that feeding concept sufficient zinc, calcium, phosphorus intake. iron vitamin D meet recommendations. Thus, prolonged supplementation should be considered beyond meat least Trial registration number ClinicalTrials.gov : NCT01809548.
