Recent interest in preventing the development of osteoporosis has focused on regulation redox homeostasis. However, action lycopene (LYC), a strong natural antioxidant com-pound, osteoporotic bone loss remains largely unknown. Here, we show that administra-tion LYC to OVX rats reduces body weight gain, improves lipid metabolism and preserves quality. In addition, treatment inhibits ROS overgeneration serum marrow rats, BMSCs upon H2O2 stimulation, leading inhibiting adipogenesis pro-moting osteogenesis during remodeling. Mechanically, may improve quality via an increase expressions FoxO1 Runx2, decrease PPARγ C/EBPα BMSCs. Collectively, these findings suggest attenuates through promoting regula-tion FoxO1/PPARγ pathway driven by oxidative stress, presenting novel strategy for os-teoporosis management.

Introduction Although previous researches have suggested that certain dietary nutrients, such as carotenoids, an effect on depression, epidemiological evidence the relationship between lycopene and depression remains limited. This study aimed to investigate association intake risk in American adults. Methods Data from 18,664 participants National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES, 2007–2016) were analyzed, with defined by a nine-item Patient Questionnaire (PHQ-9) score ≥ 10. Dietary was estimated mean of two 24-h recalls. Binary logistic regression restricted cubic spline (RCS) models employed assess relationship. Results Depression prevalence 8.98%, adjusted analyses indicated higher significantly associated reduced compared lowest quartile (ORs for second, third, fourth quartiles: 0.851 [95% CI, 0.737–0.982], 0.829 0.716–0.960], 0.807 0.695–0.938], respectively). Additionally, U-shaped observed, reduction ranging 0 10,072 μg/d ( P -non-linear = 0.017). Discussion may confer protective against

Abstract This study aimed to determine the effects of Mediterranean diet (MD) and lycopene on development EAE inflammatory markers. In 43-day study, 72 female C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into eight groups according whether they or naive (control) mice, fed a Western MD, received lycopene. During ad libitum, given 10 mg/kg/day per mouse every other day for 28 days in oral gavage. The scored EAE, sacrificed their spleen, lymph nodes, spinal cords removed. We observed slightly delayed onset MD-Lyc group compared others, clinical scores also lower than groups. T-cell counts spleen nodes significantly production IFN-γ IL-22 was higher IL-17 A cytokine produced addition, highest myelination score seen group. had unique microbiome profile with remaining summary, MD administration positively impacted myelination. However, more comprehensive studies at vitro vivo levels are needed reveal effect this intervention cell numbers CNS. Graphical

The ability of Deinococcus bacteria to survive in harsh environments, such as high radiation, extreme temperature, and dryness, is mainly attributed the generation unique pigments, especially carotenoids. Although limited number natural pigments produced by these restricts their industrial potential, metabolic engineering synthetic biology can significantly increase pigment yield expand application prospects. In this study, we review properties, biosynthetic pathways, functions key enzymes genes related explore strategies for improving production through gene editing optimization culture conditions. Additionally, studies have highlighted role antioxidant activity radiation resistance, particularly emphasizing critical deinoxanthin D. radiodurans . future, bacterial will broad prospects food industry, drug production, space exploration, where they serve indicators antioxidants protect astronauts’ health during long-term flights.

Imidacloprid (IMI) is a commonly used new-generation pesticide that has numerous harmful effects on non-targeted organisms, including animals. This study analysed both the adverse pancreas following oral consumption of imidacloprid neonicotinoids (45 mg/kg daily for 30 days) and potential protective lycopene (LYC) administration (10 mg/kg/day with IMI exposure in male Sprague-Dawley rats. The apoptotic, pyroptotic, inflammatory, oxidative stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress biomarkers were evaluated, along histopathological alterations. Upon administration, noticeable changes observed pancreatic histopathology. Additionally, elevated oxidative/endoplasmic reticulum-associated biomarkers, apoptotic also administration. LYC effectively reversed these alterations by reducing markers (e.g., MDA) enhancing antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT). It downregulated ER (IRE1α, XBP1, CHOP), decreased pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β), suppressed pyroptotic (NLRP3, caspase-1) (Bax, cleaved caspase-3). improved ultrastructure brought toxicity.
