Previous studies have confirmed the relationship between gut microbiota and sleep disorders, characterized by persistent inability to achieve adequate sleep, with dietary composition playing a key role in maintaining homeostasis. Our study aims explore newly proposed Dietary Index for Gut Microbiota (DI-GM) as well whether Inflammatory (DII) mediates this relationship. This is based on data from 30,406 participants National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2005 2018, cross-sectional survey that represents U.S. adult population. We used multivariable logistic regression models examine DI-GM disorders. Subgroup interaction analyses were conducted assess stability of results. The effect of diet on sleep quality has been addressed in many studies; however, whether/how plant-based diets (PBDs) impact sleep-related parameters not explored detail. This review aims to give an overview the components PBDs and possible mechanisms through which may improve quality. Studies have indicated that such as PBDs, are typically high fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, fiber, associated with better outcomes, including less fragmented improved duration. Several explain how and/or outcomes. Firstly, characteristically rich certain nutrients, magnesium vitamin B6, patterns. Secondly, often lower saturated fats higher contribute overall health, Additionally, plant bioactive compounds like phytochemicals antioxidants herbs sleep-promoting effects. According available data, PBD Mediterranean elements promise enhance quality; it is crucial note should be customized based each person’s needs.

Methods: PubMed, Web Science Scopus databases Google Scholar search engine were systematically searched for relevant studies related DII using appropriate terms until February 2024. Results: From initial systematic databases, 197 retrieved. However, only 14 them met criteria evaluation. Out these, eleven indicated significant correlation between higher scores poor overall quality and/or short/long duration or its subscales. On contrary, four did not find any proof this association. Conclusion: This review following an anti-inflammatory could potentially lead improvement outcomes. Well-designed clinical trials future will be necessary better understanding quantification
