During the overwintering production of lettuce in solar greenhouses, there exist a short duration sunlight and low light intensity, which are detrimental to growth development lettuce. Supplemental lighting is an effective solution this issue. This study aims explore influence adding different wavelengths red white LEDs for supplemental on photosynthesis leaves greenhouses. Four experimental zones were established, namely LED + 630 nm (T1), 660 (T2), 690 (T3), no (CK). Abstract BACKGROUND Light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) are being used in controlled environments to enhance crop production and pest management with most studies focusing on continuous treatments (applied throughout the entire daytime or nighttime period). Here, we tested hypothesis that providing tomato plants timed LED regimes (daily 3‐h doses of red, blue, far‐red LED) during day at night may affect their traits (leaf reflectance indices, element composition, phenolic profile), performance two‐spotted spider mites ( Tetranychus urticae ) (TSSM), a species predatory mite Phytoseiulus persimilis) . Light is a vital regulator of photosynthesis, energy production, plant growth, and morphogenesis. Although these key physiological processes are well understood, the effects light quality on pigment content, oxidative stress, reactive oxygen species (ROS) antioxidant defense systems, biomass yield plants remain largely unexplored. In this study, we applied different light-emitting diode (LED) treatments, including white light, red blue red+blue (1:1) combination, to evaluate traits mentioned above in alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.). There is a growing interest in cultivating pakchoi under controlled environment agriculture. However, research on establishing the ideal environmental conditions for plant factories remains insufficient. Therefore, this study, we investigated optimal red-to-blue light ratio enhancing plants’ nutritional quality and growth.
