In vehicles powered by fuel, the effort to minimize CO and HC emissions through various strategies leads an increase in CO2, contributing global warming. This study aimed experimentally assess simultaneous reduction of vehicle tailpipe CO, HC, CO2 using desirability function analysis (DFA). On predetermined routes Addis Ababa city, two were tested for on-road at five speeds on road slopes a portable tester. Surface plots used display how vary with changes speed gradient. The DFA results revealed that optimal was 40 km/h flat route 30 2-degree uphill, composite 0.83 0.72, respectively. found increased 2.82%, 18.97%, 5.28% compared optimized km/h. gradient, traveling 20 exhibited 4% emissions, 23.92% decrease 1.26% Adjusting limits accommodate gradients is recommended simultaneously DFA. approach contributes lowering air pollution reducing pollutant from speeds.

(1) Background: Transition to smart cities involves many actions in different fields of activity, such as economy, environment, energy, government, education, living and health, safety security, mobility. Environment mobility are very important terms ensuring a good urban areas. Considering arguments, this paper proposes monitoring mapping 3D traffic-generated noise emissions using simple, UAV-based, low-cost solution. (2) Methods: The collection relevant sound recordings is performed via UAV-borne set microphones, designed specific array configuration. Post-measurement data processing filter unwanted vibrations produced by the UAV rotors. Collected information location- altitude-labeled ensure profile data. (3) Results: Field measurements levels directions altitudes presented paperwork. (4) Conclusions: solution employing for environmental results being minimally invasive, low-cost, effective rapidly producing pollution maps reports future improvements road infrastructure.

Additionally, intersection’s design fuel consumption emissions also be investigated. During morning evening rush hours, six hours manual counts were conducted at ten intersections. The collected data is then analyzed determine performance intersection. level service, based delay ratio volume over capacity turning movement, used indicator for This revealed that reduction time more than 100 seconds signalized can significantly reduce emissions. In conclusion, well-designed intersection facilitate movement which eventually quantity greenhouse gases released into atmosphere global climate change.
