Abstract A digital twin is a representation that closely resembles or replicates real world object by combining interdisciplinary knowledge and advanced technologies. Digital twins have been applied to various fields, including the agricultural field. Given big data systematic management, can be used for predicting future outcomes. In this study, we endeavor create an using mandarins as model crop. We employ Open API aggregate from sources across Jeju Island, covering area of approximately 185,000 hectares. The collected are visualized analyzed at regional, inter-orchard, intra-orchard scales. observe analysis explains variation fruit quality substantially more than inter-orchard analysis. Our visualization analysis, incorporating statistical models machine learning algorithms, demonstrate potential use in future, particularly context micro-precision individualized agriculture. This concept extends current management practices based on data-driven decisions, it offers glimpse into agriculture enabling customized treatment plants, akin personalized medicine humans.

Digital Twins have emerged as an outstanding opportunity for precision farming, digitally replicating in real-time the functionalities of objects and plants. A virtual replica crop, including key agronomic development aspects such irrigation, optimal fertilization strategies, pest management, can support decision-making a step change farm increasing overall sustainability direct water, fertilizer, pesticide savings. In this review, Twin technology is critically reviewed framed context recent advances agriculture Agriculture 4.0. The review organized each agricultural lifecycle, edaphic, phytotechnologic, postharvest, infrastructure, with supporting case studies demonstrating benefits production supply chain considering both limitations approach. Challenges are disclosed regarding complexity managing amount data multitude (often) simultaneous operations supports.

Digital twins aim to optimize practices implemented in various sectors by bridging the gap between physical and digital worlds. Focusing on open-field agriculture, livestock farming, forestry reviewing current applications these domains, this paper reveals multifaceted roles of twins. Diverse key aspects are examined, including twin integration maturity level, means data acquisition, technological capabilities, commonly used input output features. Through prism four primary research questions, state art twins, extent their achieved integration, an overview critical issues potential advancements provided landscape under consideration. The concludes that spite remarkable progress, there is a long way towards achieving full twin. Challenges still persist, while factor seems be expert knowledge from different stakeholders. In light constraints identified review analysis, new sector-specific definition for also suggested align with distinctive characteristics intricate biotic abiotic systems. The digital transition is one of the biggest challenges new millennium. One key drivers this need to adapt rapidly changing and heterogeneous technological landscape that continuously evolving. Digital Twin (DT) technology can promote at an urban scale due its ability monitor, control, predict behaviour complex systems processes. As several scientific studies have shown, DTs be developed for infrastructure city management, facing global changes. are based on sensor-distributed networks support management propose intervention strategies future forecasts. In present work, a three-axial operative framework proposed developing DT system using Venice as case study. three axes were chosen sustainable development: energy, mobility, resiliency. fragile cultural heritage, which needs specific protection strategies. methodology starts from analysis state-of-the-arts technologies definition features. Three different proposed, aggregating features in list fields each axis. open-source database then analysed consider data already available city. Finally, services results show improve by adopting DT.
