Due to its significant environmental impact, the wine industry is one of most analyzed agri-food sectors in terms sustainability. These include waste emission, intensive land use, and high transport-related carbon footprint. The circular economy represents an opportunity mitigate these impacts by promoting valorization waste. Through a systematic literature review, this research provides overview studies from 2018 2024 that deal with transformation waste, particular vinification residues, into resources. covers commodity which reused, such as Food, Agriculture, Energy. analysis sample reveals countries issue studied are Italy, Spain, Portugal. study encourages better integration sector business practices assessing economic impact. From management point view, aim inform companies about effective order promote development more sustainable industry. Future will focus on evaluating effectiveness pathways, also through case good practice implementing model.

The purpose of the article is to assess possibility applying circular business model wine farms in Poland. focus on economic aspects producing grape seed oil as one waste products generated production chain. manufacturing potential Poland was estimated based resources and processing capacity farms. profitability determined for selected located Lower Silesia. data were obtained through interviews with producers participating “Cooperation” research project Rural Development Program. In case small farms, scale does not allow achieving level cover its costs. Large more than 10 thousand litres may be interested this type production. transition into will, therefore, require establishing producer groups or developing relationships competition between producers.

This study aims to investigate two types of solvents, ethanol and natural deep eutectic solvent (NaDES), using the ultrasound-assisted extraction techniques, in order analyze their efficiency ability extract polyphenolic compounds from red grape pomace. The optimization validation most feasible conditions leading maximization dependent variables (total anthocyanins, polyphenols, flavonoids antioxidant activity), were carried out response surface methodology with a central composite design. For extraction, validated optimal at 35 °C for 22.5 min concentration 70% ethanol. values obtained under these 105.32 mg cyanindin-3-glucoside (C3G)/g DW, 465.81 gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/100 g 15.3 catechin (CE)/100 DW 1414.15 mMol Trolox/g respectively. Concerning NaDES, consisting 1:2:1 molar mixture choline chloride, lactic water, that led profile 57.58 C3G/g 414.04 GAE/100 15.8 CE/100 7.28 respectively, 60 volume 10 mL. Two different chromatographic profiles obtained, 12 identified ethanolic extracts only 5 vitro digestion revealed high bioaccessibility polyphenols gastric environment, drastic decrease simulated intestinal fluid. results are valuable terms identifying best alternative, non-toxic, ecofriendly solvents.

Natural deep eutectic solvents (NaDESs) are emerging for their yield when used extraction of different molecules, including polyphenols. NaDESs a cutting-edge technology that offers numerous advantages, cheap cost, safety, effectiveness and environmental friendliness. However, due to NaDES’ high boiling point, the recovery separation compounds after is bottleneck process. In this work, two affordable methods were tested phenolic from three binary (composed choline chloride mixed separately with lactic acid, tartaric acid or glycerol as hydrogen bond donors): antisolvent liquid–liquid methods. The former was assessed by diluting extracts aliquots water, employed antisolvent, which ineffective. For method, ethyl acetate (EtOAc), acetonitrile (ACN), 2-chlorobutane (2-CB) 2-methyltetrahydrofuran (2-MeTHF) compared. Except ACN, all perfectly immiscible NaDESs, forming biphasic systems analyzed colorimetric assays HPLC/MS. 2-MeTHF applied on 10-fold water dilution NaDES extract reached percentages higher than 90% most non-anthocyanin phenols good (up 80%) some anthocyanins. appears be first known solvent capable extracting anthocyanins NaDESs. Finally, two-step performed firstly EtOAc subsequently proposed fractions.
