Abstract. Asnawi. 2023. Heavy metal content in duck eggs and meat that consumes feed containing Sapu-sapu fish (Hypostomus plecostomus). Biodiversitas 24: 3201-3206. This study aimed to evaluate heavy metals the of ducks feeding on plecostomus Linnaeus, 1758) Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The observation collected samples from three major Mataram rivers. Duck were a livestock group fed fish. observed variables include; macronutrients (moisture content, crude protein, fat, fiber, ash) (Cu Pb) fish, by found possesses complete macronutrients, making it possible feed. copper (Cu) ranges 189.314±0.0238 ppm, while lead (Pb) 4.25±0.18 ppm. average Cu consuming was 7.692±2.158 ppm 14.523±6.481 levels cesarean 0.936±1.557 0.373±0.211 concluded city stream has nutritional (protein, amino acids, minerals) but contains high metals. Therefore, if consumed, dispose into meat. As result, consume sapu-sapu contain Pb exceed threshold, so they are unsafe for human consumption.

New sustainable sources of feeds, which can enhance the health and welfare farm animals, lower feeding costs, lead to safer products, are high priority in modern animal production systems. In present study, a novel silage created from Greek olive, winery, feta cheese waste by-products, was evaluated as feed ingredient at different inclusion rates (0%, 5% or 10%) 34-day-old weaned pigs. The potential beneficial effects on performance, intestinal digesta microflora balance pigs were evaluated. Additionally, chemical, microbiological quality analysis meat carried out. Thirty-two (32) TN70 (Topigs Norsvin) weaned pigs, aged 7 weeks, having an average weight of 10.5±0.5 kg were used to evaluate the effect corn and cob meal (CCM) on carcass parameters, organ weight, villi morphometric, organoleptic properties pigs. CCM was produced by grinding grain together. The pigs acclimatized for seven days before they randomly allotted four (4) dietary treatments with eight (8) per replicate in a completely randomized design. experiment lasted weeks. feed had 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% diets tagged as D1, D2, D3, D4 respectively. The use of agricultural waste in animal production has gained global interest. An eight-week trial was conducted to investigate the impacts adding ethanolic guava leaf extract (GLE) as a feed supplement on growth, utilization, immune response, nutrient digestibility, redox regulation, and blood health growing rabbits. Ninety weaned rabbits were randomly assigned three groups. first group fed basal diet (GLE0), while other two groups control fortified with 15 mg (GLE15) or 20 (GLE20) GLE per kg for 8 weeks. HPLC analysis exhibited presence gallic acid, ferulic catechin, caffeic acid significant amounts. results indicated that final body weight, daily intake digestibility significantly higher GLE-treated compared un-treated (p < 0.05). Dietary supplementation reduced lipid contents including triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, VLDL (P 0.05), most observed when mg/kg diet. AST ALT levels well cortisol hormone lower than those GLE0 Immunoglobulins (IgG IgA), antioxidant biomarkers (SOD TAC) T3 improved by 0.001). Rabbits had ROS MDA Moreover, hepatic intestinal architectures maintained all diets GLE. suggest (20 diet) fattening rabbit could efficiently improve status, physiology, capacity tissue histology.

This study determined production performance, nutrient intake, digestibility, and carcass traits from ostrich chicks fed with barberry (Berberis Vulgaris) leaves (BVL) as a replacement for alfalfa hay (AH). For 150 days, 30 male (Struthio camelus) (9.10 ± 0.89 kg live weight, mean SD) were randomly grouped into five dietary BVL inclusion levels to replace AH: control diet based on 100% AH (CTRL), four groups substitute at varying including 25% (BVL25), 50% (BVL50), 75% (BVL75), (BVL100). The average daily feed intakes (ADFI) recorded birds weighed monthly. intake digestibility measured the following final 5 days of trial. ADFI was higher (p = 0.025) BVL100 BVL75 than CTRL. Ostriches BVL50 had highest gain (ADG, p lowest conversation ratio (FCR, 0.0001). Return per BW also enhanced 0.018) feeding. Dietary did not affect OM 0.257), CP 0.260), EE 0.610), CF 0.427), Ash 0.461). Also, there no changes in AME 0.180) or AMEn 0.670). hot weight (HCW, 0.331) dressing 0.237) affected. Overall, results suggest that can diets without deleterious impact however, its partial substitution (for diet) has been associated improved ADG, FCR, reduced feeding costs.
