Domestic solid waste management (DSWM) in Vung Tau City (VTC) is emerging as an envi-ronmental problem behind rapid urban development. The amount of DSW increased rapidly, leading to a disturbance the collection, transportation, and challenges implementation DSWM at source. This study aims assess situation develop analyze scenarios system for VTC, thereby proposing strategies improve city 2024 - 2033. were built based on analysis, national regional SWM regulations, scientific assumptions that have been studied Viet Nam. showed VTC has in-creased rapidly rate 7,4%/year over past decade reached 457.9 tons 2022. About 80% collected by 500 informal collectors, who work spontaneously are unmanaged. minimalist optimal models evaluated. results these two should be applied phases, 2024-2028 2029-2033, respectively. According this roadmap, land-fill was estimated reduce 26% total generation. recovered recy-clable also five times compared 2023. Furthermore, quality treatment area suitable composting handling waste-to-energy solutions.

Recently, an increasing number of firms have embraced sustainable supply chain practices to reduce negative environmental and societal impacts in their networks. The adoption a circular economy framework has become popular among many businesses as strategic approach achieving development goals. This involves turning used products into new items with different uses, aligning wider corporate sustainability aims. advent Industry 4.0 initiatives holds the potential exert transformative influence across entire business systems, redefining manner which are conceived, manufactured, distributed, disposed of. present study undertakes inquiry interconnections linking capabilities, green integration (GSCI), flexibility management (SSCF), utilization capabilities (CEC) within context performance (CSP). Based on comprehensive survey 256 manufacturing organizations, highlights importance integrating dynamic like GSCI SSCF I4.0 CE strategies. collected data reveal GSCI, SSCF, enhancing CEC promoting sustainability. Given these insights, recognizing harmonizing vital technologies proves valuable for organizations aiming enhance through informed decisions.

Purpose In the construction industry (CI), inaccurate loose material measurements pose waste and economic challenges, accounting for approximately one-third of project cost overruns, representing 60% overall costs. Current practices measuring materials are riddled with errors, direct adjustments missing real-time oversight, resulting in waste, inefficiencies escalations. This study aims to address this issue by automating weighing mechanism while regularly monitoring them during transportation from source. Design/methodology/approach study, an innovative Internet Things (IoT) solution: a smart vehicle-mounted (VMW) system was developed using sensors, Arduino C++ language. Initially, prototype tested/ refined experimenting on Tractor trolley loaded materials. Statistical methods were employed test validity against traditional weighing. Finally, tested optimized real through case study. Findings The empirical findings reveal that IoT-enabled achieved accuracy exceeding 95% rigorous field assessments. A comprehensive highlighted significant savings, 2.7% subbase 5.94% aggregate base These results validate successful development prototype, demonstrating its potential improve management, minimize enhance operational efficiency projects promoting sustainable practices. Originality/value Few studies have addressed fully automated measurement transport sites. introduces novel VMW quantity takeoffs (QTOs). offers CI reliable, transparent, error-free management tool, advancing current quantification thereby leading toward sustainability latest technologies.
