Using a qualitative approach grounded principles of theory, we conducted semi-structured interviews an open-ended data collection instrument with technology vendors, implementation consultants, HEI professionals that are actively exploring GenAI applications. Our findings highlight six primary types GenAI—textual analysis synthesis, summarization, next-best action recommendations, speech synthesis translation, code development, image video creation—each applications across student recruitment, advising, alumni engagement, administrative processes. We propose evaluative framework eight readiness criteria assess institutional preparedness adoption. While offers potential benefits, such as increased efficiency, reduced costs, improved its success depends on readiness, ethical safeguards, leadership. By integrating co-intelligence alongside human expertise, HEIs can enhance CRM ecosystems better support their constituents.
