Imbalanced supplies and demands of ecosystem services (ESSD) can negatively affect human well-being. Optimizing land use patterns in cities regions is, fact, essential to mitigate this challenge ensure sustainable development. In context, the present study aims analyze supply demand food production (FPs), carbon sequestration (CSs), recreation (RSs) a typical coal resource-based city (Huainan) China. addition, main influencing factors their driving mechanisms were further explored using geographical detector (Geo-Detector) multi-scale geographic weighted regression (MGWR) models. Future changes also predicted under traditional constrained development scenarios GeoSOS-FLUS model. The obtained results indicated that: (1) comprehensive service (ES) index decreased from 1.42 0.84, while increased 0.74 0.95 during 2010–2020 period; (2) urban rural areas had spatial disparities; (3) construction, ecological, cultivated strongly impacted ES; (4) implementing effectively protect ecological land, control expansion, improve ESSD relationships Huainan City. This provides valuable theoretical foundation methodological framework for future optimization efforts, as well enhancing sustainability mitigating imbalance between services.

The entropy weight method RUSLE model are used to analyze spatiotemporal variation activity intensity (HAI) Weihe River Basin (WRB) from 2005 2020. Through geographic detectors four-quadrant model, impact various driving factors coupling degree human–land studied. results showed: (1) During past 15 years, moderate, high, strong, severe areas WRB decreased by 9.88%, 35.89%, 45.17%, 70.05%, respectively. ratio historical sand transport modulus result 0.83, indicating that obtained can be further analysis. (2) Slight weak degrees account 80% northwest region. high strong regions mainly distributed Shaanxi section, accounting 3% total basin. (3) constantly strengthening, joint effect pop crop main reason slowdown spatial differences erosion. This indicates ecological environment became stable. Ecologically fragile areas are confronted with the contradiction between economic development and ecological protection, especially in Tuha region (Turpan Hami), where extremely vulnerable environment limits local sustainable development. To address this, this study utilizes POI (Point of Interest) data, land use, socioeconomic statistical data to achieve spatial quantification indicators on a kilometer grid scale, constructing multi-factor, multi-dimensional evaluation system for effects based SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The entropy method, comprehensive coupling coordination degree model, geographical detector method used analyze relationships systems at different scales factors influencing system’s degree. results indicate that from 2010 2020, economic, social, region, as well their scores, exhibited similarity. showed an upward trend, social displayed inverted U-shaped trend rising then declining, while presented declining increasing. At county closely approximates index, showing continuous trajectory. Compared Turpan city, Hami Yizhou district, exhibits best degree, growth is most significant Gaochang district. main grain production GDP (gross domestic product). This provides new perspective indicators, which great significance balancing protection promoting coupled coordinated society, economy, ecology ecologically areas.

An ecological security pattern is an essential natural solution for promoting the coordinated and sustainable development of urban growth environment within a given region. This study aims to develop comprehensive (ESP) Jinjiang watershed by integrating multiple service functions: regulation, eco-product provisions, human settlement services. Using well-established methodology “source identification—resistance surface construction—ecological corridor extraction”, we identified 322 source areas delineated 321 corridors spanning 1941.67 km, with key connecting regulation sources ordinary primarily linking provisions sources. Our results show that northern hilly regions are significant Anxi County services scattered across river valleys. integration enhances regional sustainability provides model similar coastal globally. findings offer scientific guidance balancing preservation, contributing worldwide.

The relationship between land use changes and regional carbon storage is closely linked. Identifying evolving trends concerning influencing factors on under future scenarios key in order to achieve the “dual carbon” goals. Using Chongqing as a case study, this study integrated advantages of PLUS model, InVEST geographic detector model. It conducted simulations type data natural development (ND) ecological protection (EP), identified regarding storage. results were follows: (1) model demonstrated excellent simulation performance, with Kappa coefficient above 0.85 an overall accuracy 0.90. During period, significant occurred for cultivated land, forested water bodies, construction, which related storage; (2) showed decreasing trend, decrease 10.07 × 106 t C from 2000 2020. Under ND scenario, was projected by 10.54 2030 compared 2020, it expected stabilize 2050. At county level, Youyang, Fengjie, Wuxi had highest storage, while Nanchuan, Jiangbei, Dadukou lowest; (3) spatial distribution presented “eastern hotspot western cold spot aggregation” pattern. proportions regions decreased, unchanged, increased aggregation during 2000–2010 2010–2020 2.99%, 95.95%, 1.06%; 4.39%, 92.40%, 3.21%, respectively. trend indicated stabilize; (4) elevation, terrain fluctuation, NDVI, annual average temperature, precipitation, nighttime light index influence values 0.88, 0.81, 0.61, 0.86, 0.77, 0.81 respectively, different combinations having greater impact. In future, priority green concepts should be followed, comprehensive improvement conditions pursued enhance thereby promoting achievement This provided analytical path support formulating optimized policies at level.

The coordinated development of the water–food–ecology (WFE) nexus is a practical issue that has to be addressed urgently for northwest China’s (WTL) sustainable development. Optimizing linkage relationship and accomplishing rational distribution resources from perspective supply demand ecosystem services (ESSD) are imperative. Thus, in this study, numerical indicator system ESSD WFE was constructed with incorporation water carbon footprint. Based on premise, ecological management zoning method enhanced by integrating risks, optimization suggestions were proposed various zones. results showed (1) sequestration (CS), food production (FP), yield (WY) significantly increased between 2000 2021. High ESSDs concentrated west side China. Maize, wheat, cotton, vegetables, garden fruits had higher (ESs). (2) three bound synergistic relationship. synergy exhibited significant spatial heterogeneity, while synergies similar patterns. (3) Regarding quantity matching, FP CS surpassed demand, WY could not meet demand. ESs’ deficits rose. Ecological supply–demand ratio (ESDR) regional differentiation ESs apparent. low supply–low focused high supply–high risk Qaidam Basin, whereas mostly Hexi inland river basin (HX), Yellow River Basin area (HH), both sides “Qice line”. (4) zones formed WTL’s dominant weak functional zones, four categorized strategy regions, governance models. This study can serve as scientific benchmark management, which ensuring water, food, safety.

Understanding the value of ecosystem services is imperative for welfare current and future generations. Anxi town situated within mountainous terrain Fujian province, China characterized by a diverse range ecosystems encompassing forests, rivers, mountains. These offer wide services. The has been declining in county past twenty-years. However, limited known on spatial changes factors affecting these Therefore, study assessed (provisioning, regulating, supporting, cultural) 24 townships three time periods, i.e., 1999, 2009, 2019 results revealed that annual decline was higher 1999-2009 than 2009-2019. Longjuan, Xianghua, Gande, Futian, Changkeng, Xiping, Taozhou Huqiu observed highest ranging from 20.1 to 68.1 million yuan. GWR model indicated vegetation index had impact county. Overall, negatively correlated with urbanization rate distance road some exceptions, whereas altitude positive impact. All (except Taozhou) negative values water supply Hence, significant ecological issue It concluded tea farmers should be educated about soil conservation, investment done conservation measures, regional environments protected, planting techniques developed halt further decrease
