This manuscript explores the relationship between economic awareness (as a part of energy awareness) Polish households and their sustainable consumption practices. Sustainable is measured by frequency behaviors such as turning off electrical devices when not in use, removing mobile device chargers from sockets, switching lights leaving room, preferring showers over baths, using washing machines dishwashers only full, purchasing energy-efficient appliances light bulbs. Economic gauged through variables knowledge electricity tariffs, understanding electric bill components, prices, exact expenses, usage kWh, effective energy-saving methods, familiarity with efficiency classes study presents profiles high low regarding expenditures examines how these differ behaviors. research based on survey 1407 conducted online 2023. Data collected were subjected to statistical analysis are presented tables graphs. The findings discussed context existing literature field, highlighting implications contributes influences among households, providing insights for policymakers conservation initiatives. One key this paper significant association awareness, knowledge, adoption households. reveals that higher levels demonstrate notably practices related compared those lower awareness. Similarly, equipped greater about techniques exhibit propensity adopt underscores important roles literacy education fostering behavioral changes towards more practices, importance targeted interventions educational campaigns aimed at enhancing promoting consumers.

The use of greywater heat exchangers (GHEs) is an effective way to reduce energy consumption for heating domestic water. However, the available characteristics this type device are often insufficient and consider only a few selected parameters water greywater, which results in need look tools enabling determination effectiveness GHEs various operating conditions with incomplete input data. aim paper was determine usefulness artificial neural networks (ANNs). For purpose, comprehensive experimental tests were carried out on horizontal exchanger, taking into account wide range flow rates temperatures these media, as well linear bottom slope unit, allowed creation database 32,175 results. Then, feasibility implementing full research plan assessed using ANNs. analysis showed that impact media exchanger values obtained ANNs limited, makes it possible significantly number necessary experiments. Adopting three temperature at least one medium generation ANN models coefficient R2 = 0.748–0.999 RMSE 0.077–1.872. In case tested GHE, rate mixed key importance. even significant importance, without compromising final Assuming five different each four (a total 625 combinations) made generate model (R2 0.993 0.311) high generalization ability covering cases. Therefore, conducted confirmed assessing conditions. approach described important both environmental economic reasons, allows reducing energy, carry such scientific research.

The application of shower heat exchangers (SHEs) allows for a reduction in the amount energy necessary to domestic hot water (DHW). As result, not only costs heating DHW but also emission harmful products fuel combustion is reduced. However, identification key areas determining resulting carbon dioxide remains an unexplored issue. For this reason, main purpose paper was comprehensively analyze impact parameters characterizing operation horizontal SHE cooperating with electric heater on potential CO2 emission. part research study, 16,200 values corresponding different conditions installation were determined. analysis carried out considering location countries European Union. Artificial neural networks and SHAP used as tools. This study showed that intensity, world map, total daily length are importance prediction reduction. efficiency turned be least important parameter. proved greatest environmental benefits using SHEs will visible where fossil fuels account large share electricity production, such Poland, buildings significant consumption.

This study focused on assessing the financial efficiency of investing in a horizontal shower heat exchanger. The analysis was based net present value (NPV). research also examined possibility using artificial neural networks and SHapley Additive exPlanation (SHAP) to assess profitability investment significance individual parameters affecting NPV project related installing exchanger buildings. Comprehensive conducted, considering wide range input parameters. As result, 1,215,000 values were obtained, ranging from EUR −1996.40 36,933.83. Based these values, network models generated, one exhibiting highest accuracy prediction selected (R2 ≈ 0.999, RMSE 57). SHAP identified total daily length initial energy price as key factors influencing least influential parameter found be hot water heater. results can contribute improving systems for investments exchangers. application developed model help selecting appropriate technical system achieve maximum benefits.
