The research was conducted context emerging countries. Design/methodology/approach utilised partial least squares path modelling (PLS-SEM) assess model its hypothesised relationships, drawing data from a survey 1993 engaged websites with e-trustmarks. incorporated SOR theory, asymmetric information signalling theory. Findings E-trustmarks moderate positive impact eWoM, online trust. A effect also found, such that association intention stronger when were higher. Research limitations/implications solely Vietnam focused only set input variables without addressing specific industries or market segments. did not use demographic data, as age income surveyors, identify variations different target groups, indicating potential areas for future research. Practical implications Emerging countries should implement targeted policies regarding encourage businesses adopt them reduce asymmetry environment. Originality/value contributes theory by offering critical insights into how can make influence mechanisms ease information. Integrating advances consumer countries’ markets
