Fish infectious diseases are one of the main constraints aquaculture sector. The use medicinal plants provides a sustainable way protection using safe, eco-friendly compounds in more cost-effective treatment, compared to antibiotics. aim present study is assessment Artemisia arborescens (AA) feed-supplementation effects on gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata). with an average initial body weight 109.43 ± 3.81 g, were divided into two groups based AA feed composition (A25 and A50). Following months ad libitum feeding, effect diets fish length measured. serum mucus analyzed for non-specific immune parameters (nitric oxide, lysozyme, myeloperoxidase, protease-/anti-protease activity, complement), antibody responses, oxidative stress (cytochrome P450 1A1, metallothionein), metabolism markers (total protein, alkaline phosphatase, glucose). Expression levels antioxidants (sod1, gpx1), cytokines (il-1b, il-10, tfgb1, tnfa), hepcidin, heat shock protein grp75 genes measured spleen samples. A results analysis indicated that A. as supplement has compromised positive growth performance, response, blood seabream. Overall, suitability efficient food health improvement was investigated, setting basis its application Mediterranean aquaculture.

Heavy metal contamination threatens the aquatic environment and human health. Different physical chemical procedures have been adopted in many regions; however, their adoption is usually limited since they take longer time, are more expensive, ineffective polluted areas with high heavy contents. Thus, biological remediation considered a suitable applicable method for treating contaminates due to its aquatic-friendly features. Bacteria possess an active metabolism that enables them thrive develop highly contaminated water bodies arsenic (As). They achieve this by utilizing genetic structure selectively target As deactivate toxic influences. Therefore, review extensively inspects bacterial reactions interactions As. In addition, literature demonstrated potential of certain genetically engineered strains upregulate expression activity specific genes associated detoxification. The resistant mechanisms bacteria exhibit significant variation depending on genetics type bacterium, which strongly affected criteria surrounding environment. Moreover, has attempted establish scientific connections between existing knowledge suggested sustainable methods removing from strains. We shall outline primary techniques employed bioremediate environments. Additionally, we will define obstacles face wide application modified bioremediation open bodies. Heavy metal pollution is one of the most devastating abiotic factors, significantly damaging crops and human health. One serious problems it causes a rise in cadmium (Cd) toxicity. Cd highly toxic with negative biological role, enters plants via soil–plant system. stress induces series disorders plants’ morphological, physiological, biochemical processes initiates inhibition seed germination, ultimately resulting reduced growth. Fiber such as kenaf, jute, hemp, cotton, flax have high industrial importance often face issue Various techniques been introduced to counter rising threats toxicity, including reducing content soil, mitigating effects stress, genetic improvements plant tolerance against this stress. For decades, breeders trying develop Cd-tolerant fiber through identification transformation novel genes. Still, complex mechanism has hindered progress breeding. These are ideal candidates for phytoremediation heavy metals contaminated soils. Hence, increased uptake, accumulation, translocation below-ground parts (roots) above-ground (shoots, leaves, stems) can help clean agricultural lands safe use food crops. Earlier studies indicated that detoxification, developing these stresses genes fruitful approaches. This review aims highlight role some conventional molecular key Molecular mainly involve QTL mapping GWAS. This study compares plastic litter on two beaches in Malta, Golden Bay and Rivera Beach, focusing abundance, characteristics, sources, the influence of human activity pollution. Conducted March 2023 during low-tourist season, 13 sediment samples were collected from a depth 5 cm using systematic square sampling method. The was quantified sorted by size, shape, color, polymer type, concentrations potentially toxic elements (PTEs) measured (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn, Fe via ICP-OES). results showed significantly higher quantities at Bay, with microplastics being dominant. composition varied notably between beaches, PTE plastics double those Beach. provides valuable insights into coastal pollution dynamics, especially tourism-affected areas.
