In recent years, rapid urbanization in the Southern Jiangsu urban area has significantly altered land use patterns, impacting local ecosystem service value (ESV). This study examines changes (LUCs) from 2000 to 2020 and assesses ESV with equivalent factor method. The PLUS model is also used project future LUCs line “Land Space Planning of Province (2021–2035)”. simulation considers scenarios for natural development (NDS), ecological protection (EPS), farmland (FPS), comprehensive (CDS) year 2035. research findings show that over past two decades, urbanized areas have persistently grown, whereas there been a steady decline extents farmland, forested areas, grasslands. total shown decreasing trend, spatial distribution exhibiting higher values eastern regions lower west. relationship between negative, as evidenced by both (LA) Moran’s I index. Scenario predictions reveal forest land, grassland trend under NDS, while it opposite EPS. FPS predominant area, all types CDS comply national planning requirements. Overall, predict influence on four scenarios, which beneficial optimizing regional resource schemes formulating compensation policies.
