Repairing hard tissues, such as bones, remains a significant challenge, especially in adverse clinical conditions. Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA), calcium phosphate (CaP), has structural and chemical characteristics similar to the mineral structure of human bones teeth, offering bioactivity biocompatibility properties. Photobiomodulation (PBM) uses light reduce inflammation accelerate tissue healing. This systematic review analyzes combination CaHA PBM from 25 studies extracted PubMed, Web Science, ScienceDirect databases, using keywords "hydroxyapatite AND photobiomodulation", "calcium "low-level laser therapy phosphate." All focused on bone regeneration, with no mention soft applications. The most commonly used calcium-based material was biphasic (76%), β-tricalcium phosphate, while 16% did not specify brand or product used. With regard PBM, wavelengths (48% cases, tie 24% for each) were infrared lasers at 808 nm 780 nm, 20% mentioning manufacturer. results underscore predominant focus highlighting need further investigations into applications establishment standardized protocols. shows promise regenerative medicine dentistry, although more research is needed expand its experimental use.

ABSTRACT This study investigates the morphological, thermal, mechanical, and bioactive properties of centrifugally spun fibrous composites made from poly(D,L‐lactide)/poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate) (PLA/PHB) blends with zinc oxide (ZnO) hydroxyapatite (Hap) nanoparticles. A 75/25 PLA/PHB weight ratio was chosen to balance mechanical thermal properties. The precursor solution viscosities ranged 0.25 0.50 Pa s, increasing nanoparticle incorporation probably due polymer‐nanoparticle interactions. SEM revealed a uniform morphology, diameters 1.21 for PLA/PHB, 2.65 PLA/ZnO/Hap, 1.80 μm PLA/PHB/ZnO/Hap. TGA showed two‐step degradation fibers, while PLA/PHB/ZnO/Hap degraded in single step at 249°C, leaving residue 9.95%. DSC indicated partial miscibility, cold crystallization 85°C (enthalpy: 7.72 J/g), slightly modified by addition. fibers achieved Young's modulus 24.96 ± 3.91 MPa, three times that pure PLA, but adding ZnO Hap reduced tensile strength 6.03 0.29 retaining suitability biomedical applications. exhibited 90% Escherichia coli growth inhibition enhanced MC3T3‐E1 cell viability 120% on day 7. These results highlight their potential antimicrobial, biocompatible medical devices.

Basic science research is vital for advancing the emerging field of bone-anchored limb replacement (BALR), or osseointegration (OI). This article discusses clinical challenges BALR/OI, summarizes current basic regarding those challenges, identifies gaps, and proposes future directions. OI draws from related fields such as orthopaedic implants dentistry. There a need small animal models to study critical questions osseointegration, including implant-associated infections. Small are also ensuring safety efficacy novel treatments in this vulnerable population. Key issues include infection prevention through implant surface modifications, biofilm-targeting technologies, antimicrobial advancements. The skin-implant portal, unique BALR, poses significant challenges. Research on skin attachment inflammatory processes crucial. Noninfectious loosening implants, though infrequent, needs further investigation. review emphasizes collaborative efforts develop effective preclinical innovative strategies. Addressing these essential optimizing patient outcomes field.
