Sample preparation methods tend to be fast, simple, with the use of new adsorbents and lower amounts organic solvents make them more environmentally friendly. In this work, a magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) protocol for quantification six opium alkaloids (OAs) in poppy seeds infusions has been optimised followed by analysis liquid chromatography coupled tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). For purpose, mesostructured silica composite β-CD (Fe3O4@SiO2@mSiO2@β-CD) was synthesised characterized. To obtain highest level functionalisation, three proportions monomer/material (12.5, 25 100%) were determined, demonstrating that 25% showed level. Adsorption studies carried out water at different pH (1, 2, 7, 9 11) times 5, 10 20 min), confirming high adsorption capacity 1 min. Then, elution conditions MSPE procedure (50 mg material, 2 mL water/EtOH 50% 1% formic acid min). The methodology successful validated low detection limits, negligible matrix effect good recovery values (89–94%). applied home-made four seeds, observing one worrying amount OAs which imply content least legislation.

A novel dual-template magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) was synthesized to extract normetanephrine (NMN), metanephrine (MN) and 3-methoxytyramine (3-MT) from spot urine samples. As the adsorbent of dispersive solid-phase extraction (d-SPE), MMIP prepared using dopamine MN as dual templates, methacrylic acid functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate crosslinking reagent nanoparticles core. NMN, MN, 3-MT creatinine (Cr) in samples were selectively enriched by d-SPE detected HPLC-fluorescence detection/ultraviolet detection. The peak area (A) ratios Cr used for diagnosis pheochromocytomas paragangliomas (PPGLs). results showed that adsorption efficiencies target analytes all higher than 89.0%, coefficient variation precisions intra-assay inter-assay within 4.9% 6.3%, respectively. recoveries 93.2% 112.8%. still 14 days could be reused at least seven times. recommended (SPE) both pretreat 18 PPGLs patients 22 healthy controls. correlation coefficients ANMN/ACr AMN/ACr between SPE 0.95. In addition, areas under receiver operator curves ANMN/ACr, plasma free NMN 0.975, 0.773 0.990, 0.821, respectively, indicating two methods had similar performances. method took only 20 min, which effective clinical application.

Abstract This work examines the physical and chemical interactions between polar nonpolar solvents surface of MCM‐41 material, which serves as isolating layer, employing sensing capacitance‐voltage measurements with a Metal‐Insulator‐Semiconductor (MIS) capacitor. It was observed that is more sensitive to methanol, protic solvent, than other like chloroform, according data. Furthermore, by analyzing interaction methanol function applied field, electron transfer, orientation solvent molecule, DFT Calculations using Siesta simulation software enable us assess this sensitivity. Based on performance insulator in MIS capacitor, has strong potential for creation high‐sensitivity sensors detection avoiding functionalization process.

Food safety is crucial to attaining food security and sustainability. Unsafe foods for human animal consumption lead product recalls rejection, negatively impacting the global economy trade. Similarly, climate change can adversely affect availability of safe nutritious at table. The changing climatic conditions trade transport make movement toxic plants possible, resulting in crops being increasingly invaded by some species that produce secondary metabolites, such as tropane alkaloids (TAs). Datura stramonium from Solanaceae plant family an invasive virulent produces high amounts two TAs, atropine scopolamine. Various poisoning events following accidental or deliberate ingestion contaminated scopolamine seeds D. have been recorded different locations globally. Due these incidents, regulatory agencies require development toxin detection methods be used chain early possible. This systematic review thus focuses on TA determination techniques feeds published between 2013 2023. A particular focus was given sample preparation methods, improvements each technique claimed, data support performance method, especially ability measure below maximum level. concludes with other technological advancements, including rapid spectroscopy, electrophoresis, colorimetric well possibility coupling smartphones use on-farm challenges applying them.

Gabonafélék, hüvelyesek, egyéb szemes termények, különösen a vegyszermentes termelésű biotermékek nem megfelelő tisztítása általános közfogyasztásra szánt élelmiszerekben esetenként dokumentált mérgezést okoznak. 2021-ben megjelent európai uniós szabályozás növényi alapanyagok viszonylag széles körére határozza meg megengedhető mértékét, így rendelet következetes betartásával elérhető lesz alkaloid szennyeződésből eredő élelmiszerbiztonsági kockázat csökkenése, mindamellett, hogy az utóbbi évek élelmiszer-eredetű mérgezéses esetei felhívják figyelmet alá eső élelmi anyagok köre bővítésének szükségességére.
