Filamentous fungi exhibit remarkable adaptability to diverse substrates and can synthesize a plethora of secondary metabolites. These metabolites, produced in response environmental stimuli, not only confer selective advantages but also encompass potentially deleterious mycotoxins. Mycotoxins, exemplified by those originating from Alternaria, Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium species, represent challenging hazards both human animal health, thus warranting stringent regulatory control. Despite frameworks, mycotoxin contamination remains pressing global challenge, particularly within cereal-based matrices their derived by-products, integral components diets. Strategies aimed at mitigating multifaceted approaches, including biological control modalities, detoxification procedures, innovative interventions like essential oils. However, hurdles persist, underscoring the imperative for interventions. This review elucidated prevalence, health ramifications, paradigms, evolving preventive strategies about two prominent mycotoxins, aflatoxins ochratoxin A. Furthermore, it explored emergence new fungal biocontrol methods using lactic acid bacteria mustard oil, emphasizing efficacy spoilage production. Through an integrative examination these facets, this endeavored furnish comprehensive understanding challenges posed emergent poised ameliorate its impact on food feed safety.

Multi-mycotoxin analysis of 22 mycotoxins in 202 durum wheat samples collected Algeria from 2019 to 2021 was performed by UHPLCMS/MS. Enniatins were present 2 out 45 the harvest, whereas harvest 2020 37.6% contaminated ochratoxin A and/or beauvericin, deoxynivalenol (1076 µg/kg), fumonisin B1, enniatins, and zearalenone (most prevalent harvest). Mycotoxin contamination increased 55.2% harvests. The most frequently observed mycotoxin co-occurrence combination enniatin A1, B, B1 (0.5-126 µg/kg) DON (1307 µg/kg). AFB1 (0.4-2.6 found only one sample continental region. These results pointed necessity frequent regular quality controls order better evaluate risk regarding Algerian population.

This study established a method using ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry for the quantitative analysis of 9 harmful mycotoxins: Zearalenone (ZEN), α-Zearalanol (α-ZEA), HT-2 Toxin (HT-2), T-2 (T-2), Ochratoxin A (OTA), Fumonisin B1 (FB1), Deoxynivalenol (DON), Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) and (AFB1) in raw milk. The exhibited good linearity, sensitivity, accuracy, precision, making it suitable trace these toxins We applied this to analyze 200 milk samples from Heilongjiang province, China, found that they contained multiple mycotoxins, with relatively high concentration ZEN. To further explore metabolism mycotoxins dairy cows, we conducted metabolic on 12 lactating cows. results showed significant changes among ZEN demonstrating notably higher conversion rates compared other transitions feed serum, milk, feces. These findings provide new insights into safety emphasize importance strict monitoring regulation products protect human health. Simultaneously, believe future research should delve deeper which is crucial ensuring public health safety.

Zearalenone (ZEN) and its metabolites are a potent component with estrogenic potential that can enter milk. ZEN have the ability to disturb function of endocrine glands. The aim this systematic review was estimate level in This study performed these keywords; zearalenone, ZEN, bovine milk, ruminant dairy products, milk product various databases. 946 manuscripts were collected from databases at end, 17 reviewed according inclusion criteria. identified 59 % studies. most common methods analysis UHPLC, HPLC ELISA. Meta-analysis CMA (Comprehensive Meta-Analysis) software. No publication bias observed meta- analysis. But, heterogeneity recorded between measurement method as one sources through meta-regression tests subgroup Furthermore, test, total contamination mycotoxin 0.036±0.017 µg/L. So far, permissible limit for compound has not been announced, but compounds glands low amounts. Therefore, it is necessary regularly measure control metabolite valid methods.
