In addition to their advantages as promising methods for wastewater treatment, CWs exhibit poor performance in terms of N and P removal efficiency the effluent treatment plants. Chile has numerous areas that lack sewage collection, including in the capital city. Sanitation these cases is managed through individual solutions like septic tanks or small wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) use biological treatment, usually activated sludge with extended aeration.
