The dairy industry’s contribution to global warming has been thoroughly examined. However, it is important raise public awareness of emission hotspots and the possibility mitigation in supply chains. This study assessed Carbon Footprint (CF) five products through a cradle-to-grave Life Cycle Assessment approach evaluated carbon sink potential some practices. functional units were 1 kg fresh raw milk, yogurt, cheese, mozzarella aged cheese. data collected related an extensive farm, cheese-factory, two markets, delivery service, court consumers. CFs 4.39, 5.10, 9.82, 8.40, 15.34 CO2 eq. for respectively. chain considered herein refer farm activities energy consumption, whereas conservative agriculture practices rotational grazing sequestered 1.60 ± 0.80 per product consumed. CF was reduced by 0.14 delivered at home compared direct purchasing market. capacity farms appeared as primary mean mitigating climate change chain.

Integrating ecosystem services and life cycle assessment is gaining increasing attention for the analysis of environmental costs benefits associated with human activities covering multiple geographical scales stages. Such integration particularly relevant evaluating sustainability nature-based solutions. However, merging these methods introduces additional uncertainties. This paper a novel protocol to assess uncertainties in combined services-life assessment, focusing on accounting, inventory foreground systems, impact characterisation factors. Applied solution case study compared no-action energy-intensive scenarios, were analysed using multi-method global sensitivity analysis. The robustness results was assessed through convergence plots statistical tests. Findings reveal significant uncertainties, especially factors, extent varying by category. Uncertainties inventory, land use solutions scenario, are also notable. Compared these, indicators (uncertainty arising from input variability accounting) relatively lower. underscores critical role uncertainty enhancing reliability integrated assessments solutions, providing framework identify quantify key thereby supporting more informed decision-making.

Researchers have long been interested in developing new economic assessment methods to provide credible information and facilitate the sustainable development of technologies products. The techno-economic analysis (TEA) life cycle cost (LCCA) are most widely used approaches for modeling calculating processes’ impacts. A simulation-based TEA is a cost-benefit that simultaneously considers technical factors. In addition, method facilitates entire project provides systematic approach examining interrelationships between technological aspects. When it comes studies, intimately bonded with uncertainty. There numerous uncertainty sources, classified various ways. reflects “an inability determine precise value one or more parameters affecting system.” variability refers different values given parameter may take. This implies probability density function (PDF), instance, can be employed estimate quantify parameter. bias “assumptions skew an certain direction while ignoring other legitimate alternatives, factors, data.” present study identifies frequency which TEA/LCCA studies address gaps within selected papers through scoping review. results indicate associated factors model uncertainties were main sources LCCA. Moreover, possibilistic such as Monte Carlo methodology frequently tool cope LCCA TEA.

Water and wastewater systems play an essential role in sustainable development public human health, which have multiple environmental impacts that must be regarded. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a promising effective evaluation framework to consider the potential of WWSs processes. Over last two decades, there has been significant increase literature on LCA WWSs, still despite s' advantages, it some limitation due intensive data needed for this analysis, cause uncertainty results.
