Despite advancements in microlearning-based English-speaking education, comprehensive meta-analyses of its effectiveness remain scarce. This study aimed to evaluate the effect microlearning on English speaking among as a foreign language (EFL) students through systematic review and meta-analysis. Following PRISMA principles, research was conducted June 2023 across five phases: problem identification, data collection, screening, evaluation, extraction. Data were obtained from peer-reviewed journals indexed databases, including ERIC, Science Direct, Scopus, Google Scholar. analysis undertaken using modified Newcastle-Ottawa Scale-Education (NOS-E). Subsequently, R meta program facilitated robust meta-analysis, allowing us comprehensively gauge size. A literature yielded 10 studies (combined sample size = 743) that matched eligibility guidelines. On NOS-E, each scored 4.55 out 6. The results demonstrate superiority over traditional lectures (total scores, SMD 1.43, 95%CI 1.27?1.59, p < .05). In heterogeneity revealed scores for speaking, I2 66%, .01), with no publication bias. Microlearning significantly benefits teaching (ELT) enhances EFL students’ skills. However, limitations do exist. By addressing these limitations, educators may refine pedagogical practices optimal ELT methods learning.
